He's here, right?
What is with his game of consistent hiding, is everything a test and does his entire "life" revolve around watching us squirm, as he'll obviously continue to watch as most of the souls he ever 'created' burn eternally in hell? ?

sorry DMZgorillaz, good question.

Because "god" is a myth created by humans to explain that which they didn't understand.

God has revealed Himself in the Person of His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ. Among the religious leaders who have attained a large following throughout history, Jesus Christ is unique in the fact that He alone claimed to be God in human flesh ... The claims of Christ are many and varied. He said that He existed before Abraham (John 8:58), and that He was equal with the Father (John 5:17-18). Jesus claimed the ability to forgive sins (Mark 2:5-7), which the Bible teaches was something that God alone could do (Isaiah 43:25).

The New Testament equated Jesus as the creator of the universe (John 1:3), and that He is the one who holds everything together (Colossians 1:17). The apostle Paul says that God was manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16, KJV), and John the evangelist says that 'the Word was God' (John 1:1). The united testimony of Jesus and the writers of the New Testament is that He was more than mere man; He was God ...

Yes, Jesus claimed to be God. Why should anyone believe it? After all, merely claiming to be something does not make it true. Where's the evidence that Jesus is God?

The Bible gives various reasons, including miracles and fulfilled prophecy, that are intended to convince us that Jesus is the one whom He said He was (John 20:30-31). The main reason, or the sign which Jesus himself said would demonstrate that He was the Son of God, was His resurrection from the dead.

Most importantly, countless people for almost 2000 years have discovered that Jesus Christ alone can meet the deepest longings and needs of the human heart. He can do this because He was God in human form, and He was raised from the dead by the power of God. He is alive today, and He wants to enter your life right now. Do not be blinded by your own ideas or the ideas of others regarding religious truth. Look at Christ, and when you do you will realize that in Christ alone "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3).

There are so many angry answers to this question. I'm so sorry if you're looking for a straight answer. I am also seeking, having been divorced and had other personal hardships, and I am skeptical if God is really testing me or if people are just using religion to further their emotional shortcomings.

Please continue to believe in god if you have a one-on-one spiritual connection. The bottom line is that science is trying to prove everything, but we are slow to the draw. What isn't proven has to have an explanation that requires a leap of faith/hope/a miracle. You just keep believing in those miracles until we have better answers.

Your understanding of God causes you to err in your question. God has shown himself to only one person in history as his glorfied personna and that person was Moses.
Flesh and blood can not look on God without perishing because God loves you He won't show Himself to you. It would only cause your death.
Like you, God doesn't want to see the souls He created suffer in the Lake of Fire so He sent His only Son to atone for our short commings and both He and His Son knew before hand what a terrible price had to be paid. Christ chose to die in your's and my place. With His divine authority, He could have stopped the process at any time and you and I would not have anyone to not only atone for our sins and aquire forgivness for us but to restore mankind to full fellowship with Him, throughout the remainder of eternity. Think how awsome it will be to eat at the dinner table with the Soverign Ruler of all eternity not as an honored guest, or even a friend, but as a well loved child a member of the family.
My present situation my be pretty poor now but eye has not seen and ear has not heard the riches God has prepared for us. That is my eternity it is fixed by God's love and by his blood. I wish you could see that and accept it for yourself.
I am sorry you are having a bad time of it now but eternity is a long time. I wish you would just turn toward God instead of away.

The bible says that no one has stood in the presence of God himself and lived. He isn't hiding, he's quite out in the open, he is everywhere. Just because you can't see him doesn't mean he's not there. I am not squirming, are you? I don't believe that most of the souls he ever created are going to burn in a eternity of hell, only those who are truly wicked and evil.

___If we saw Him, we would automatically choose Him cause we 'have' to. Thats not what He wants. To be love, it has to be a choice above other things i.e. money, other relationships, etc.
___Part of the reason God 'hides' is that we would'nt change anyway (in our hearts). Read the end of Revelation. After Jesus Himself rules on earth for a full millenium, men will STILL able to be decieved into mounting a rebellion. So seeing Him as some sort of proof or confirmation is overrated.
___But the thing is, God promises to reveal Himself. 2 Chronicles 16:9 says God WANTS to reveal Himself, He is just looking for people whos hearts are 'strong' toward Him. He waits to be wanted. If you want God, He will reveal Himself to you.
___In my experience however, most people that lament the intangability of God lacked such curiousity when it came to really seeking Him. Most people like to ask those questions for the sake of asking them.
___Ask yourself this, 'Would I really do what He says if did show Himself?'

Good question, but the answer exists in another way of looking at the problem. You believe in God, I assume. So do I. And I asked the same question. This is the answer I listened for, meditated on, and thought about and it happened over a long period of time. I am 64 years young, now.
Finally I kept hearing the words belief and faith used as if they were the same thing, but when I thought about it and ask that question, I realized that they were as different as night and day. Human will power is limited. In the darkest moments, belief will falter.
We are not paragons of strength in and of ourselves, nor are we separate from all that is around us. God is loving even though it is sometimes almost impossible.
Faith is a different animal. Faith is a form of knowing. One just knows. It is like looking across a field of open flowers in the woods. Or watching and listening to rain fall.
These sounds convey harmony with nature, a belongingness. On earth we belong. We understand the interconnectiveness and dependency by looking, seeing and living the possiblilities in nature.
You felt the awesomeness in Church. It is also the music of our souls because we belong to everything around us and everything belongs to us. If discord and blood is what is around us, than we also hear the sound of the spirit their in the terror of it.
God does not need us to exist because we are never away from God. We are part of God as all humans are part of God. The strength and weakness's of the human are all part of God, along with everything else.
Faith is a way of knowing with out the weakness of having to believe because some things of life are just to hard for humans to accept with or without terrible suffering.
Look at the animals and their love of life, and they are frankly determination to live. God talks to us all the time.
We must know that life is a complex inner dependency that is much larger than our own independence.
Give in to the music of it.

Well, God is alive and well. He IS a spirit and He is also living by His own words and laws.

He gave the earth to man...and that was the worse thing He could have done, but within that He gave man a free will...and said He would never interfere...and He will not.

A person must ask for His help...but in doing so, must be willing to obey all the rules. It's sort of like government...police...break the law and you are imprisoned. So it is with your life...and your soul. However, Moses who was the only one who was able to view 'His Glory'... God cannot be viewed by any living being or they will die...and that's a fact. His power, his aura...his SPIRIT...his might... cannot be seen by mere man. We must be in the spirit before we can ever see him...and those spirits must be bound for heaven.

the scripture says that noone can see God and stay, the only individual who have been given a glimpse of God as he handed by skill of had to conceal his face something of his existence with the aid of fact the brightness scared the individuals. so till now you ask to make certain God's face, make certain you particularly need to make certain it in case it kills you from the brightness. He has different techniques of disclosing Himself regardless of the undeniable fact that. whether He have been 'well mannered' on your e book, He surely wouldnt be inspired at the same time with your suggestions-set concerning Him.

Let me say that God,Jehovah,Yahweh, is the Ultimate Creator & Warrior that walked in the Garden of Eden with Adam & Eve. Adam was created by the hand of God Himself. After the fall, God cannot personnally show or reveal Himself to any human because of sin, unless in different form. God is all around us. I belive His favorite form now is water: how many forms does it have? He also destroyed the earth the first time by flood because the blood line of humans was impure---due to the envious nature of the fallen angels that malested the flesh. God is too pure to be around sin in any way. When Jesus was crucified on the Cross, there was one moment when Jesus felt His Father's absense because He cannot be near it. Over 90% of our body is water too. It is not God's intent for us to be damned, we damn ourselves because we are self-destructive by nature.

God/godess is everywhere, it's only because people suffer from a case of mistaken identity that this is not known. Ask your self the question "who am I" and see what you find.
