What are you afraid of? People like you are not afraid to spread hate in LGBT section (go check, if you don't believe me) What is that scares you exactly now? a different opinion?

Jesus says, 'Buy a dictionary and don't just sit on it -- learn to read it!' If you are going to represent Christians, you might think about learning a little grammar. Jesus says, 'do it!'

Your problem is that you have the wrong beliefs.

You have the right to hold false beliefs, but you do not have the right to demand that others pretend that those beliefs are true, or reasonable, or respectable.

I'm sure you must notice that it is the Christians who do the bulk of the ignorant 'bashing' here (for example, just look at the responses immediately above and below this one). Most of the atheists here sincerely answer questions, and do so with the correct answers fairly often. Almost no Christians give respectable answers reflecting any effort at all to act like adults (though I do think that things have gotten considerably better in that respect in the last week or so - I don't know why).

I'm just as tired of seeing christians bash atheists, agnostics, muslims and pagans as you are of the atheists bashing christians. It'd be nice to see someone be mature and make the first move toward tolerance and acceptance. Unfortunately, there are times when it just seems like a playground here and the children are running amok.

I'm an atheist. I'm sorry that you feel that atheists are bashing your religion when answering questions that christians ask. However, since religions are based on beliefs, we are all writing opinions, which we are all allowed to have.

I am sure some atheists feel that some christians bash their unbelief by their answers.

Well, I respect your RIGHT to ask the question. I just have a problem with this idea of "bashing". It seems to be the throwaway term given to anything that even slightly challenges the absolute truth of the Christian worldview. If your faith is strong there really shouldn't be anything that can bother you. If you're referring to those posters who are genuinely insulting and offensive, then a) there isn't that much about and b) you can report them.

And if (as I will put my hand up to) you mean you don't like it when a Christian gets "bashed" IN A QUESTION THAT POSES SOME SMART-ALEC AND GENERALLY IGNORANT POINT ABOUT ATHEISM then ... tough.

What do you do? Do you just approach a stranger and start asking them a bunch of religious questions? Of course they are going to bash your religion. You should realize that the person you are talking to is not interested in religious talks. You should realize you are annoying them, just before they express it in an ugly form. If you can't talk to people of anything else, bad for you. In that case, very few atheists, if any, will express any respect.

I'm not wrong. Trust me.

Respect your own religion and give the same sense of choice that Jesus advocates. And this is an Answers board from America that advocates freedom of speech. You have no right to say who can and can't answer. The Answers board doesn't belong to you and people who agree with you. But there was a fascist that felt he was a Christian. Have you ever heard of Hitler?

I'm not disrespecting your question at all. I don't have a problem with all Christians. In fact I tend to like Liberal Christians. I'm not too fond of Fundamentalist/Evangelical Christians however. To be honest I could care less one way or the other if you were religious on even non religious for that matter. I only care when it affects me such as when people insult me and other non Christians and non religious people and try to put their religious beliefs into our Secular laws.

Yes, they have issues. I think the really funny thing about atheists and all their bashing is their leader, who met an untimely death, has a son who is a minister. Ouch that must really hurt them to know that. She has a believer in her own family, her own child.
If they want to be an atheists will that is what they choose to do. But, that does not give them a free pass to Bash anyone who believes in a God.
Also, being in the medical field, I have seen people who have talked trash all their lives about god and Jesus and people who are in religion and etc...But the strange thing is when they are dying they are asking for prayer, they are asking for God, they no longer are talking that garbage. I guess when death is at your door you begin to wonder about a heaven and a hell.

I'm personally more tired of asking a question then someone pops up and says "You're an Atheist!!! God is the only way to salvation! Blah Blah Blah" It's like a preaching session.

Atheists, are you tired of Chrstians answering your questions by bashing your (non) religion?

Chrstians bash every other religion in the book more than I have ever seen an atheist do it.
