Yeah. My Mom does it all the time. I would suggest that you open it and use a little off the top. Otherwise, it will expand when it freezes and then it won't sit upright in the fridge.
It will also spoil quicker. So make sure you use it w/in a week or so instead of the usual 7-10 days.

Freezing causes "undesirable changes in milk's texture and appearance" and it will expand so you need to pour/use some from the container before freezing. Since freezing milk does cause some degree of separation among its components. Skim and lowfat milk freeze (thaw, actually) better than whole milk, as there is less separation. You can shake the thawed milk vigorously or beat it in an electric mixer, but it still will not have the same "mouth feel" as milk that has not been frozen. The dairy board and other milk groups suggest that you might prefer to use previously frozen milk in cooking and baking, and save never-frozen milk for drinking.

There is some disagreement on how long you should keep milk in the freezer (ranging from three weeks to three months). Milk readily absorbs other flavors, so the sooner you get to it, the more likely it will still taste like milk. It should be thawed in the refrigerator, and will take a day or more to thaw thoroughly.

You can freeze milk but the consistancy will be a little different when you defrost it (It will be a little grainy) Also be sure to leave some empty space in the container you are freezing it in so it will have room to expand. You should defrost it in the fridge not the microwave.

Yes, it will feeze without a problem. but you should not freeze whole milk for more than a month. Fat free and Skim milk I have used after three months of being frozen without a problem.

regards

PS. Alway defrost in the frig.

It'll be great when you thaw it. My mom use to do that all the time when we were kids. Back then we had paper cartons and she would freeze milk when it was on sale so that we would have it on the weeks it was expensive. She also use to freeze it in little containers so that she could just thaw what she needed.

yes, milk that you freeze will be perfectly fine, just make sure you defrost it in the fridge.( no microwave) and do not leave the milk in the freezer for over a month.

For a little while (up to a month), yes. Longer than that it'll usually be OK when you first defrost it, but will turn sour pretty quickly after that.
