all i did was play, i loved my dolls and i would try to get the neighborhood cat into my doll's clothes, so i'd be pushing my doll carraige and holding the cat with one hand ---until it had enough and scratched me and flew out of the carraige and down the street--still with the doll's bonnet tied under it's chin.

I miss the freedom that came with being a child. Oh, I know I had curfews and chores to do and certain things I could and couldn't do. At the time, I thought my parents were too restrictive...nothing short of Eva Braun and Adolph Hitler, yet there was something so freeing about noting having any responsbility.
I miss playing. I miss how my imagination and that of my friends could wisk us away to any place at any time. How we could take an old fallen tree and turn that into an airplane. How we never learned a thing about profit margins from our Lemonade stands because we drank all the inventory ourselves.
I remember being happy about daylight savings time..that way we could all play outside later.
I miss never wanting to miss watching my favorite cartoons and thinking Johnny Quest had the coolest life. I miss waking up with zeal and wanting to play right off the bat. I miss my Little Kiddles, my Spirograph. My Incredible Edibles, my Easy Bake Oven, my Lite Brite and my Play Dough when it still had a taste.
Most of all, I miss the metabolism I had as a kid. I really do!! Because here I sit, 39 years later and I just ate a cookie and I swear to God, I just looked down at my thigh and could see the word "Oreo" protruding through my skin.
Oy.

If I had a chance to turn back my childhood, I would change my life completely. So I miss the opportunities which I couldn't realize.

ghost in the graveyard, freeze tag, trick or treating til 10:00 pm, riding my bike for forever, sat morning cartoons, being able to just go and not come home til dinner, being tickled by my dad, smelling my mom's spagetti sauce cooking when i'd come home from school, the sound of all the guys in my dad's garage, the smell of grease and oil and my dad testing the race car. we'd stand in the middle of the cross roads to block traffic while my dad test drove it down our street. i was a very lucky girl. i love those things and i miss them a lot. thanks for the memory.

what I missed most during my childhood was the bonding I had w/ my siblings and cousins.. we had probably played all children games during our childhood..
aside from that, one great thing also was "no bills to worry.." and it was stress-free..
