Not necessarily. While I would probably want to send some message that the work is true so that people will pay attention, there is a difference between being told what to do and behaving accordingly and understanding. Understanding takes more than just reading or listening. It requires tearing apart a text, examining all the implications, working through the problems, etc.
If god had been clear ( assuming arguendo that there is one) then most would have the simplistic understanding of a fundi. Knowing what was said without ever getting to the meaning, reasoning etc, never becoming autonomouse moral agents who act morally because it is right rather than because that is what they were told.
While no fan of christianity, Nietzsche noted " it was subtle of god to learn greek when he wished to become and author... and not to learn it better." The bible begs for the socratitic method of teaching, a method that can lead to true understanding rather than a light dull, "god said it. I believe it, that settles it" idiocy.

Does he even do THAT very often?

Seems to me God communication stopped a long time ago,
sort of when those religious wackos dispersed from the middle east.

God was so active in the bible,
where the heck is he now?

IT's an absurd thought, he was alive and well, communicating, exchanging, changing,

now he's dormant and all still profess that same Old Testament God is here...

it's very strange.

This question doesn't disprove Gods existance but rather questions if you were god how you would have done it. My point is if as an automobile designer I may have added features onto a vehicle which you may say I would have done it differently or I don'tlike that feature but what it doesn't disprove is that the designer had some motive known to him to add or not make some features.

If I were a creator, I'd want to do another version, and try to work out the bugs from the first go round.

Faith is the belief in that which is unseen. You begin with hope, you move to belief and you finally come to acceptance of God's gift to you. All you have to do is talk to God. Believe me, he will answer you if you are sincere.

Today we also have prophets and what is even more important, believers have the ever presence of the Holy Spirit to guide them in helping to bring others to Him.

My God is my Creator and God communicates with me quite clearly. But, I wait upon the Lord and I listen for answers.

The Bible is full of informationa and it even says itself, that:

"Therefore Jesus spoke again to them, saying: “I am the light of the world. He that follows me will by no means walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.”

The Bible also told of an God's organization that would be functioning on earth just for the purpose of helping us to understand what we needed to know for our day, because the light continues to get brighter as the day draws near...

Matthew 24:45-47: "“Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings."

Jesus gave us some invaluable advice when he said the following:
Matthew 6:33: “Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU."

1 Corinthians 10:11: " Now these things went on befalling them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have arrived."

2 Timothy 3:16 & 17: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

The entire Bible is of special concern for us today because the time of the "end of this system of things" is very near, and in order to survive, we need to know the information contained in God's Word, the Bible.

John 17:3: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ"

Isaiah 45: 18: ""For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else. "

Isaiah 48: 17 & 18: "This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. 18 O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. "

If I were a creator, I would work in mysterious ways.

I would yes. I would also make sure that the books had even a small amount of truth to them.

No, actually I would send cryptic messages and watch people go crazy trying to decipher them. Cruel, but fun to watch.
