Since Late Novemeber I havent been feeling the greatest, I went to the doctors and was put on medication for anxiety, after 2 months of being on Ativan i was put on Effoxor. I felt like crap and went deeper into depression(as much as I hate to admit it) and by request of a friend got off of them both. They made me feel worse then I was feeling so my doctor reffered me to the mental health clinic to get properly assessed. Though i feel better then a couple weeks ago, i am still pretty anxious and really uptight. Should i still go to my appointment at the Clinic?? WIll they think its a waste of time?? No mental issues run in my family and i cant figure out what has made me worse in the last couple of months and whats made me better, will they be angry for that???

They won't be angry; you definitely should keep your appointment. You should not, however, stop any medication at the advice of a friend or anyone other than a medical doctor. Treating depression or anxiety is difficult; sometimes several different medications must be tried before the right one for your body is found. Please be patient and comply with your doctor's orders. If you notice you are getting worse, that's even more reason to keep your upcoming appointment. If you are feeling a LOT worse, you should call and tell them so, and ask if they can see you sooner than your scheduled appointment. Good luck! :)

Hi,
I empathise with you. I am sometimes anxious and I've been through depression before.
Please attend your appointments at the clinic. Medication and counselling do help to a certain extent. You may like to see a counsellor to sort out your issues in life.
One thing that has helped in my life is Jesus. After I trust in Jesus, life has got much better. "Cast all your anxieties on Jesus because he cares for you" is a verse from the Bible. Pray to Jesus and see how he answers you. Read comforting passages from the Bible. Jesus is good and he loves you all the time.
Do go to the bookshop and buy books on relieving anxieties and depression.
Do keep yourself occupied and busy with hobbies. Try to meet up with a small group of friends who care for you.

God bless you.

when depression sets in you need to get real help.... this is no joke.... people who kill them self ....let people around them be live that they are feeling better and in alto of ways they are because they have found away to deal with their depression.... But this is not the answer... getting real help is....My ex died when she shot and killed herself and we all thought she was OK...she was depressed and stop taking her meds and now she's gone and our son doesn't have his mom. I don't know the cure but I do know the sign of it
