It depends on who is offering the discount. Some places only give discounts to the service member, while other give discounts to all dependants as well.

Most places will give anyone with a military ID the discount. When I go to the movies, I always get the military discount, whether my husband is there or not. Always ask for a military discount, even if they don't advertise one - the worst thing they can do is say no. A lot of places will give it to you if you just ask.

I've never had a problem using mine, but for the most part I live in an area they know my husband at some point in time and his ID and they just give me the discount even if he isn't with me. It all really depends on the place because some places a really strict on that, and some only give it to those in uniform when getting the service. We ran into that at a donut shop that give military discounts...only if in uniform when you came in! All I can say is try.

I depends on the company. Many times yes, they will accept a dependants ID for a discount. But some companies will only give the discount to the military member if he/she is present.

It pays to ask though.

I'm not 100% for a discount for Military. unless you were drafted you signed up to do a job. That doesn't make you special or more entitled/deserving.

Most places do, some don't. Seaworld in California gives free admisson to family members of active duty soldiers. All you have to do as the dependent if fill out a paper and show them your military dependent ID card. Just ask when you go to different places, the worst they can say is no.

Bwah! I always ask for a military discount. If they say it's only for the member - then that is fine with me....but if they let me - all the better.

Not too many places actually give a military discount however.

Usually discounts are only for the one in the military and not the families.

I've always been able to get any of the discounts as long as I had my ID with me.
