Never hear of propane taste before but you could wrap your veggies in foil and you S&P and bit of butter and steam grill them that way, they come out really nice, about 10 mins per side

Rub some oil on enough foil to cover the veggies 2 or 3 times or put melted butter or small pats of butter in with the veggies. Fold the foil completely around the veggies. Roll or fold the ends. Then put them on the grill. They should be fine after that.

you need to let the grill get really hot before placing things on it. let it warm up for at least 15 minutes, then wipe the grates with some vegetable oil on a towel. also, maybe try some wood chips in the bottom in a smoke box, you can buy this at home depot or wal-mart, happy grilling

Use Wood Chips like mesquite, hickory or pecan. You can get these anywhere like Home Depot, Wal Mart, Target, I think most grocery stores have them too. Just build a foil pan and place these on the coals. Magical.

clean the grill bars and then wipe with olive oil or some canola oil to smooth it out and might help with flavorings. Hope this is helpful
