Genesis 6:6 New King James
"And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart."

If god feels sorry for what he has done, he made a mistake, right?

If you regret doing something, don't you feel like you made a mistake?

I know when I regret something I think I made a mistake.

It doesn't say that: "He feels sorry that so many people choose to be bad,"

It says that he was sorry that he made man on earth.

Genesis 6:5 "There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. "

It wasn't the "angles" that may people bad. The world was bad because of man.

It says that there were giants before and after the flood, I think these are the prophets. It's not that something was corrupting us...we were the ones corrupting the earth.

The only mistake or miscalculation that God made was in giving mankind and his angels free will to make decisions for themselves. His creation was perfect in itself. It was Satan and man that made the mistake. If you want to call that a mistake...so be it. It like everything else is your choice.

Just to add a question for you as well...if you are sorry because of the way something you planned turned out, was it a mistake for you to plan it? For example if you planned to take a date to a party and you thought you were going to have a great time but then she ended up going home with someone else...who made the mistake? You or her?

From our limited perspective, God does sometimes seem to change His mind. When the city of Nineveh repented as a result of Jonah's preaching, for example, the Bible says that God "had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened" (Jonah 3:10).

But that's only part of the picture. The Bible tells us that God is perfect and all-knowing, and even when He apparently changes His mind, He is actually carrying out what He intended to do all along. He knows what is going to happen; nothing on earth ever surprises Him. The Bible says, "I the Lord do not change" (Malachi 3:6). It also reminds us that "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight" (Hebrews 4:13).

What difference does this make? For one thing, it tells us that we can trust God for our eternal salvation. If God was constantly changing His mind, might He not change His mind about us? Might He decide to save us one day, and then reject us the next? But God isn't like that! He has promised us that if we have put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ for our salvation, then nothing "will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39).

It also means we can trust God with our lives right now. God loves us, and He has a plan for our lives. No matter what we face in life, He is with us and will never abandon us. Thank God for His unchanging love!
Although you may sincerely believe what you've written, I hope you won't be close-minded about it or refuse to reexamine it. After all, if God isn't perfect (as you contend), that means He can make mistakes—and therefore it means He can't be trusted.

But the Bible is clear: God is perfect, and therefore we can trust Him—even for our eternal salvation. The Bible says, "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless" (Psalm 18:30). Not only is God perfect in all He does, He also is perfect in all He is.

Take, for example, the case you cite of Adam and Eve. Why did God make them so they could sin and do wrong? The reason is because He didn't want them to be puppets or robots. He made them with a free will—for only then could they freely love Him. Yes, it was a risk on God's part—but if He hadn't taken it, Adam and Eve (and you and I) would be robots, not humans.

I can't help but wonder, however, if your real problem is something deeper. Down inside, are you refusing to believe in God out of pride, or perhaps because you want to run your own life? Whatever the reason, I pray you won't let anything keep you from Christ. God loves you, and the greatest privilege you will ever have is the privilege of knowing Him. Open your heart and mind to Christ today.

The fact is, god didnt make man in his image, man visualizes God in his image, with all the negative emotions and shortcomings that we have.

And so, our God is jealous god who regrets creating us.

Any ways, didn't he have a choice to remedy that mistake during that Noah's ark time? Surely, if it took God 6 days to create life on earth, he could have started with a clean slate, right?

If noah's virtuous, send him to heaven directly, And animals don't have souls, so how does it matter if they were all dead?

According to Bible, God had created Man in His own Image and Likeness and had also given him a FREE WILL to do things, GOOD and Bad. Also had shown him the TREE of GOOD and EVIL and had advised him not to eat it fruits. As he had free will and as he was like God's image he was supposed to be obeying God. Just because he did not obey God became grieved. This do not make Him commit to a mistake.

He doesn't make mistakes. If you take every last word you read for canon law, you'd have to be a protestant. You have to read between the lines, and try to get the broad picture, especially in the OT, as it's very cryptic.

God also said, in destroying man he would destroy the fowls of the air, etc.

Then he noticed Noah. How come he didn't know about Noah before he started getting all depressed and remorseful?

I truly hope that you continue your quest to understand who God is.

"grieved in his heart" does NOT mean he is admitting to making a mistake.
feeling sorry does NOT mean he feels he made a mistake.

He has a plan, and his plan will be fulfilled at the second coming of Jesus
