My cabinet doors have been down for several years due to circumstances beyond my control. Started painting them nd had to quit because of medical emergency. My question is does anyone out there have any suggestions to get this job done. I have purchased two different tones of green paint (Darker olive/Lighter olive) Bring the ideas on!

Consider doing a base coat of the lighter green and dry brushing the darker green on top. (This will make trim/routed edges stand out.)

Just some reminders: be sure to do good prep work. Sand or degloss, use a good primer (there is one designed for slick surfaces that really works well -- I think it is called Gripper) and top with poly to preserve your work.

Good luck!

I had similar circumstances and finally completed the task! The question is, are the doors solid panel or not? If solid, paint the outside of the door the darker, and the inside the lighter. If not solid, paint the outer panel darker, and the inside panel lighter. Does that make sense to you? Purchase new door pulls to make the transition complete. Good luck!

It would help to know if they are panel or solid doors. Panel doors you could paint the rails and stiles darker olive and the panels lighter olive. The solid type I don't see how you could two tone them and have them turn out right. But, don't get in a rush, do one door and hang it,rest and look at it if it looks good ,proceed, one at a time, take it easy, they been down for a while, what's the hurry now?
