i just updated it and now its asking me to reinstal it.

You can download the program for the apple itunes website but you also need to have quicktime on your computer for itunes to work. If it doesn't work go to Start>Settings> Control Panel>Add/Remove programs and you can repair it there.
Problem with new iTunes installs right now: If you have an hp laptop the mute button will not work unless you scroll to itunes and have it highlighted. If you are looking at something else on your screen, internet explorer for example, the mute button will only work as long as you hold it down.
