there could be an older version of the software on your computer causing a conflict with the installation. Can you be more specific about the software you are installing. Email me.

Please give more details of your question ie, Operating system, hardrive format, CPU and Ram and your error message.
Some programmes will not load on XP if the hard drive is in NTFS format as they are only meant for fat 32 systems.(normally these are programmes that were meant for Windows 95,98/98SE, ME).
If your RAM is to low some programmes will give an error message to tell you this or if you don't have a high enough spec graphics card. Check your disc for small scratches and minor dirt marks as these can cause a data read error saying files are missing also clean your CD pick ups with a CD/DVD lens cleaning disc. Sometimes anti virus programmes remove parts of programmes that they believe are pups(Potentially Unwanted Programmes). Disable your anti virus and try it again but remember to restart your anti virus before you restart.

basically there are rights given by the owner of the pc and if you are not given the right as administrator you will not be able to install programs.

look under user accounts in the control panel in Windows and choose your account if you are not the an admin you can't install programs.
