Yes i live in central scotland and support my local team Stirling Albion. I know a lot of Celtic and Rangers fans who are in no way religious, I actually think that the religion aspect is only contained in west central scotland.

Thanks for your feedback on my question L2F, nice to see that top contributors encourage us newbies to continue using this service.
I myself grew up as a celtic fan, but chose to support my local team rather than introduce my son to the bile/hatred that goes on during an old firm game.
I know that most of Glasgow support Rangers or Celtic (rather than Queens Park or Partick Thistle), but my belief is that if you go to Parkhead or Ibrox, most of the fans who pay to see their team come from outside Glasgow. These are the people I ask about, those who would rather pay to see a team from outside their own area rather than pay to support and keep alive their own local team. Scottish football cannot survive with this attitude.
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAM!!!

I don,t think your absolutely right about it being most fans but i take your point,Brian lots of families outside Glasgow have strong links with the city, having moved away in over spills to places ie Cumbernauld,East Kilbride,Denny.Irvine, the list is to long to go on,also the others are right that there,s lots of reasons, but i don,t think glory hunting is a factor, for the most part we follow our dads and brothers to the football,i think its as simple as that, nah i really think its because Glasgow is so great everyone wants to come, lol, but anyway whatever, you have to let people choose for themselves, for instance look at Rangers they have ,,,The village idiot,FTP,Pukeydrama,The lifelong Fud,Me,Biker fisher,Fudgie, and also some wee gits that suck up their holes,,who are the worst,,,they don,t want them but they have got them,,thats freedom,,its what makes life good Brian, you just got to go with it..also my friend your still invited to the title party, bring lots of bottles.

Most will be because when they are kids they support the team that is winning "glory hunters" but there is a lot of people in the same boat as me, my granddad was from glasgow and a celtic supporter he in turn took my dad to see them when growing up so he is a celtic supporter.

he left glasgow and moved to fife and when i was born he took me to see celtic as he was still a supporter so by default i became a celtic supporter.

guess it a lot to do with what team your parents supported and what games you went to when you where younger with your dad

nicely Alan Cochrane particularly shouldn't step out from being "disgruntled of Tunbridge Wells" with a remark like that. i'm a Celtic fan, and help - fervently - Scotland. i might advise that the persons that bawheid (an unofficial identify for Mr. Cochrane allegedly) is pertaining to, is obtainable in easy of the happenings of final week in Manchester. This being the case, that's previous rope and the Telegraph, Scottish or otherwise, could persist with believing that the Empire nevertheless exists and the better halves of the readers of the Telegraph nevertheless purchase the Mail.

Whattttt? Most of Glasgow support the old firm. They also happen to have supporters from all over. But, Glasgow definitely is full of old firm supporters believe me! I mean! Who else would they be interested in supporting. It's always been the way.

good point, its probably because they win all the time, half the people you talk about have never been to see them play in there life's, and i have even came accross some of them who ware the tops but cant even name a playing in the team, prime example my neighbour celtic daft apparently goes on about how great they are blah blah i had a chat with him one day and i relised he knew nothing about celtic football club and then he admitted he only supports them because they win all the time how sad it that, and i think its coped around the country, its a shame becasue there is good local clubs that are dying out for support
