According to the IRS Refund Cycle Chart, my direct deposit should be sent on March 16. Will it actually show up in my bank account on that day? Or the day after/before?

It should show up in your bank account that morning. Mine have always shown up on the exact day that the IRS says it is doing a direct deposit. However, there have been a few on this site that were suppose to get a direct deposit on a specific day, and for some reason on that Friday, it was not posted to their account. If you went through a tax preparation service and they have to take fees out first, you may not see your direct deposit on that day--it may take a few days later.

Unless they question something about your return, your refund should hit your bank account on the day on the chart. If you filed through a company that runs the refund through their bank (like to take your preparation fees out of your refund), that can take an extra few days to actually get to your account..
