Has anyone been there before? What's the weather like? Where did you stay? What was your favorite thing to do? You don't have to answer all those questions, but if you've been to Grand Caymen, give me any information you can on it!! Thanks!

I used to live there. It is a hot country, and unlike many neighbouring islands, does not benefit from sea breezes to cool things down. It is largely mosquito free because of aerial spraying every evening. It is expensive (and people are complaining of things getting even more expensive nowadays) and I don't think that it is possible to find really cheap accommodation as a tourist, unless you have friends to stay with. I loved to walk along the beach, to watch the sunsets, to swim and snorkel, to watch birds and to visit places of interest, such as Pedro St James (an historic site) and the Botanic Park, where you can see some wonderful things, including the unique blue iguanas and the local parrots. There is a lovely little museum in George Town which is worth going to. More information can be found on http://www.caymanislands.ky/default.aspx
