I think you're providing everything you can. By now, any evidence to convict him is gone.

Make her feel safe when she's around you and she will love you forever.

Well whether she wants to go to the cops or not she should because he committed a crime. And she's lucky she didinn't get hurt. What if he does it again and hurts someone this time? It will be partly her fault becasue if she reported him it might happen again. But as an ex marine no matter how big you are you and her shoudl know better. Or you go and tell him to keep to himself and even if he looks at your gf you will beat him down and that way he will for sure stay away from her. ANd also the only reason she';s having nightmares is because her consciene is making her do that. Guess if she doesn't want to tell just go to confession and tell it to t he priet and get it off her chest then she will feel and sleep better.

Why is her ex still on the streets let alone in the same school as the girl that he raped. You should make sure that she knows that she didn't deserve what happened to her regardless of what the circumstances may have been and try convince her to file suit. you sound like a dude that cares about her so just be yourself and be the person that she can feel safe around.

well she is stupid not to want to call the cops. And if she wont be a women and step up to take charge and do something then you need to, and ya know it may happen to her again, he got away with it, nothing happen to him, so that tells him it was no big deal and he can do it again. I dont know what kind of man you are but if my byfriend knew i had been raped he would do something about it. You both need to act more mature and take this issue to heart

Wow that is a tough place to be in, and congrats to you for seeking some help for her.

I would suggest finding a female counselor, if she won't go perhaps you can go to find out how you can best help your friend.

I have never been in such a situation and I am sure it is very difficult. Seek some professional advice on the best way to pursue this, so that you can help your friend heal and be whole again.

just be there to keep her safe and listen unless she wants to take further action im afraid thats all you can do ... if he isnt hurting her or harrassing her there is nothing you can legally do plus if it has been a while its really just her word against his and thats always a hairy situation.. if he starts to harrass her to threaten her then id go above her head and possibly seek professional help? maybe a councilor they can help you learn how to deal with the baggage that she brings to your relationship. u can also just show her what a real man is like and give her love and security... maybe thats why she chose you? cuz you are strong and make her feel safe. Good Luck!

omg wow. well, I am also a victim of rape. it happened to me when I was 7 years old. I am now 17. anyway, I too have nightmares about it and worry it will happen again. it is part of the natural response to victims of rape. my suggestion to you is that you continue to be supportive to her, and that you do your best to comfort her when she has these nightmares. Because that is the best thing you can do. show her that you are her protector, and that you are there for her. I hope this helps:] And I wish you the best of luck!

If she doesn't confront him in a safe place, like court, she is likely to suffer PTSD for some time. You could provoke him to a fight, and then beat the crap out of him - it might make her feel better, but you run the risk of being sued yourself. What she really needs is therapy to help her gain the courage to prosecute him.
