I've been dating this cute and nice guy. On the second date he wanted to take me to a bar. I did not say a thing to him but I said to myself 'Oh, a bar!?' We ended up going to play pool and drinking beer. It was fun thou, but I wonder why he wanted to take me there rather than to another nice place like a cafe to talk. We both want a serious relatioship.
P.S. He met me @ my cousin's wedding and I was not drinking...I was dancing.

Don’t read too much into it. He just wanted to hang out.
He wanted to get to know you in a relaxed atmosphere. It was time to let your hair down and have some fun. Talk talk and talking all the time isn’t fun, for guys.
If you want to sit around and talk suggest a day time date where you two can visit your favorite café. Leave the night dates to something fun.
Personally, this is how I do it with a new girl
-out to eat, some place nice
-then to a movie or something live.
-finally, a bar/club or pub. Someplace fun.
Daytime dates
-cafes,
-Bookstores with coffee shops
-Walk around downtown and check out all the old shops
-Walks in the park
-All great places to talk.
Keep in mind, he might not have the same taste in places to go. So, you may have to make suggestions.

maybe he likes 2 drink...or was trying 2 get u 2 lower ur inhibitions. Does seem kind of odd if he is a good and nice guy. Maybe he is shy and needs some booze to loosen up, maybe theres 2 much pressure on him when its just u and him...say in a park or whatever. he might b more comfotable around other people....even if they r strangers. Maybe he wanted 2 watch a sports game but didnt wanna cancel the date. There could be so many reasons and they rangr from scary to cute. So just be aware and keep ur guard up....but not 2 much. Enjoy the next couple dates, u could ask hin if u want. Hope this helps and best of luck to u 2

I would not. Just my preference, but I don't care for smoke, drunks, nonsense, or trouble. I don't hang out in bars and wouldn't be interested in dating a gal who does. Maybe he didn't feel like much talking that evening or maybe he wanted to show off his cute new girl friend to his friends at the bar.
Maybe he just wanted to drink some beers. Does he frequently go out to the bar? A gal who wants a "serious" relationship should consider whether she would want a husband who likes to go to the bar.

It depends on the bar. If it were a club maybe he wanted to dance; if it was a loud bar maybe he didn't want to talk; if it was a quiet bar maybe he needed a drink to relax and release his inhibitions so he could talk honestly..... or maybe he just wanted to play pool. Stop over thinking it.

Because bars are relaxing places where people can have fun, but are noisy places where its hard to talk.
He wanted a date where he did not have to have a deep discussion.
