My Windows Media Play won't play my DVDs, it's saying "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings"

But, I ALREADY TRIED DOING THAT, so that's not the problem.. any other tips?

Windows Media Player actually needs for the user to have a 'third party' DVD player program installed so that it can access the DVD decoder codecs. Something like "Power DVD" or "DVD Power Director", etc. The Media Player is not able to play the DVD files without it. Usually a DVD playing program disk is included with your DVD burner/player. For some reason, (probably licensing agreements), Microsoft doesn't include the DVD codecs with the WMP installation.

You can go to Microsoft's site for more answers. They even include links to the dvd decoder/codecs: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx#DVDDecoder

The 'Player' help page is: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/playing_CDs_DVDs.mspx

Hope this helps.
