Rocky Marciano

Definitely Muhammad Ali. A lot of people say Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Mike Tyson etcetera. However what people are forgetting there are really two parts to Ali's career, the floating and stinging boxer before he was stripped of his title and then the experienced smarter boxer after his title was unjustly stripped of him because of refusing to serve in the military for religious reasons. Ali would have annihilated ANY opponent before his title was stripped, when he was at his best. He made Sonny Liston look like a baby knocking him out in the first round in the rematch. I am sure Ali would have knocked George Foreman and Joe Frazier and Louis etcetera just as easily if only he was in his prime. (Ali lost three precious years between the intervals of his boxing license being restricted; those three years would have been his best). We never saw the best of Ali.

Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano, and Joe Louis were the best heavyweight boxers of all time. George Foreman, Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, and Harry Wills were also extremely good. Joe Frazier would give all of these guys, with the exception of Foreman and Marciano, a good fight every time out.

Each era had their best. John L., Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Muhammed Ali and in modern times Evander Holylfield.

None fought the level of competition Ali did, nor can any of them come close to impacting on the world the way Ali did outside the ring.

Blogbaba votes for Ali, he was "the Greatest".

Jack Johnson doesn't get his due because it was so long ago and there is so much less film. It's between him and Jo Louis. Tyson fought bums, and Ali comes close to the greatest. Joe Frazier, Rocky Marciano, and James Braddock had the most heart in the heavyweights.

ALI was a natural 215 lbs. Marcanio was 185 tops same with Dempsey. Joe Louis was a slugger and we all saw what Ali did to them. Ali was one for the ages size speed power and heart. Also 20 years arter his last fight he still has more fights on thje all- time great fights list

They don't call Ali the Greatest for nothing even if he gave that name to himself. As a boxing fan, I cherish every Ali fight that I've ever seen.

Sugar Ray Robinson was a Light Heavyweight.

Why do people keep asking this question? The answer is JOE LOUIS. He defended his title 25 times. He was a power puncher, Ali was NOT. In order for Ali to be a 3 time champion, it means he had to lose it twice. That doesn't impress me.

Joe Louis. He had Power, Technique and an impressive style. I think Mike Tyson Had the most potential but he lacked proper training
