rub my daughters nose in the puddle she left and smack her in the nose with a rolled up newspaper because she didn't make it to the potty?

I certainly hope you are making a bad joke. Of course it's wrong; it's also child abuse. It's not even right to do this to a dog. How old is your daughter? What have you been doing to try to potty-train her? I may be able to help you with some advice/tips. Please don't do that to your little girl. Let me know if you'd like to talk via email about different methods of potty training. I'd be more than happy to help.

NO, this will not work. If you hit her at all she will not trust you anymore. when she has an accident, show her how to clean it up, with paper towels and throw it out and wash the floor with a mop and she wont want to do all that if she misses the potty, trust me. Be very patient and every time there is an accident do the above and she will understand soon enough. If she has an accient she cleans it up and help her but make her do most of it as best as she can. She will learn take care Heather
