I have sent people to www.taxact.com and have gotten many thanks! This site is easy to use and has a free file option. With direct deposit, you could have $$$ in as little as 8 days.

I really can't say enough good things about the online tax prep at http://freetax.mortgageous.com/ - they don't charge for preparing or e-filing a standard return and they don't spring last minute charges on you for stuff like printing out a copy. They also have free support and they guarantee your return to be accurate or they pay any IRS penalty.

You can find a list of sites that allow you to file your income taxes for free at http://www.irs.gov/app/freeFile/jsp/index.jsp?ck#Company1 They all have income limits, so you may or may not qualify for free filing. If you do file for free, they will direct deposit your check within 2-3 weeks.

Here's a link for the IRS FREE efile page:

http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html

Start here and if you make under $52,000 a year-you should qualify for efiling your return for free.
