Work out with weight machines or free weights (certain yoga and floor exercises also will work) to build muscle. To lose fat, walk or ride a bike to elevate your heart rate for an hour a day. Do not raise the heart rate very much, for your age, etc. check a table of "fat burning" heart rates which are lower than cardio rates. Cardio burns the carbs in the blood.

like the dued said, work out and a good diet. DO NOT DO THE NO CARB DIET. SMALL PORTIONS AND EAT A BALANCED DIET. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO WORK OUT THEN DO IT AT HOME FOR AS MUCH AS U CAN SOME EXERCISE IS BETTER THEN NONE.
