U shouldn't b trying to lose that much weight. But...u could
--Drink 8-10 cups of water daily
--Excersise...etc treadmill,or go for walks and/ or jog everyday..or ride bike
--Eat healthier..fruits AND veggies..not candy!! or sugar
--and it's proven that if u excersise b4 bed(like right b4),than ur clinically proven to lose weight, so do that everynight 4 5 months. GOOD LUCK

Hi there, first off 35-40 pounds? Lots and lots of exercise. I suggest starting out by walking at least 30 minutes a day, then working up to running if you can handle that. If not, see if there is a YMCA or a similar program near you that offers water aerobics...great way to lose weight. I lost 20 pounds in about 3 months doing that, as well as excercising at my gym. Good luck!!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

I am doing weight watchers which is cheaper!! I have lost 11.4 pounds. I also have a friend who is doing weight watchers and exercising every day. she puts the rest of the points for the day in a bag and eats from the bag so she doesn't go over. Now the points that go into the bag, they are low calorie points and zero point foods. She has lost 24 lbs in just 8 weeks and looks great. She is 1/2 way to her goal!!! I think if you do weight watchers you will enjoy it. it is affordable and easy to do. If you follow close to something like my friend is doing then you will see fast results because she is exercising I don't exercise and have lost 1/2 the weight she has. We both drink tons of water. We put the crystal lite drink mix in the water to add flavor. good luck with your weight loos journey.

Don't fall for the gimmicks or lies...there is no fast way to lose weight and keep it off...It's all about being ready to mentally commit to changing your lifestyle. Eat whatever you like...just remember that the portion size is the key...and be sure to stay active...walk instead of drive/ride...take stairs instead of elevators/escalator. I worked with a fellow who lost half of his body weight on Jenny Craig, but when he stopped eating the JC food, he gained quite a bit of it back...It's okay to use the Jenny Craig or Lean Cuisine foods to get used to the portion sizes, but in general, most of the processed foods contain additives and preservatives which really aren't that healthy for you...It's better to go with unprocessed foods, fruits, veggies and lean meats. Good luck! I hope you are successful with your weight loss!!

Hi Andi! I am a 52 yr old fitness instructor, mother of four and grandmother of 8. Basically, the only thing that works is to increase calorie expenditure and decrease calories. An "easy" answer? 1)Go out and walk a couple of miles every night before bed, instead of eating. Make it fun: talk to friends on your cell phone or do "deep" thinking about life! 2) Eat as much food in its natural unprocessed form as is possible, e.g. a baked potato instead of chips, an apple instead of applesauce, grilled chicken breast instead of KFC; lots and lots of RAW fruits and vegies. Eat them at each meal BEFORE you put anything else in your mouth! Take a few (1/4 cup) raw nuts and baby carrot sticks or an apple, and some air-popped popcorn with you when you think you may be away from home at meal time.
Learn to count calories, at first, and eat about 300 at each meal, then have 4 or 5 meals a day.
Allow yourself one day/week to have your favorite "goodie."
Be nice to yourself, breathe deeply, and DRINK WATER!
Best of luck...I'll try to join you! (after 50, calories seem to stick around!)

Try eating healthier and remember crash dieting is not the answer! Walk around the block everyday, ride a bike, and try to make good choices in what you eat! When you get hungry between meals try this, eat carrots with lite ranch dressing, pretzels and peanut butter apples with cream cheese, etc,. you can still have the good stuff, just try to also eat the healthy stuff too!

when you eat more calories than you burn , you get fat, it is that simple, no fancy diets are needed, no exercise, just quit shoving food in your piehole. taper off a little bit each day. walk away from the table , take some fiber supplements that are sugar free, they will fill you up but not put on any weight. get the cheap walmart brand , it works just as well. if you want to sculpture your body, you might think of some exercise. worry will melt the fat away also, find something to stress over. j/k.
