I am 33 weeks pregnant with no insurance. I just found out 2 days ago that after trying to receive state aid for my pregnancy I am not eligible. I can't get insurance through my job. I am well prepared to pay a pretty penny for insuance so that I can attend my prenatal visits I just can't come up with the $3,000 in 2 months to pay my doc so I need insurance to help with the doc visits. If anyone knows of a good insurance company that will except an already pregnant woman please let me know! I am not looking for a discount program as they are scams.

depending upon your state's laws you may qualify for some help through a women's program. you should consult a local women's group like planned parenthood or the like. beyond that, you should be applying for medicaid. a social worker at your local hospital can assist you. there are also many resources available on the internet. i wish you luck and am sorry i dont have an easier answer for you.

I don't know of any health insurance company that will cover you for pregnancy without a 6-12 months waiting period.

However, that being said, you may still find it's smart to get a health insurance policy for a few reasons. You may have issues that come up that aren't directly related to the pregnancy and the company may very well cover for those. You might get lucky enough that, even if the insurance company isn't paying for pregnancy-related expenses, the doctors and hospital may bill you as someone who has insurance, which is still a much better rate than they give those without insurance. (That one's a bit of a stretch.)

But the biggest reason is: the insurance company is required by Federal law to add the baby to your policy automatically upon birth (although you are required to notify them of the birth within 30 days) and any charges for the baby AFTER birth would then be covered by the health insurance. If there are complications of any kind, that could be a HUGE issue.

You can't get insurance that will pay for a pregnancy when you're already pregnant.

Why on earth would an insurance company collect a few hundred dollars in premium knowing that it's going to cost them several thousand dollars?

It's sort of like trying to buy car insurance AFTER you have an accident. No insurance company is going to do that.

be sure you study each and all the nice print and ask the perfect questions previously procuring an coverage plans- you opt for it "speedy" yet many have a "pre-latest " clause, meaning in case you have already got an ailment- they gained't pay for something linked with the ailment for a given term (one twelve months, or 18 months generally). Ask approximately deductibles, lined amenities, co-will pay, co-coverage, community carriers, out of pocket maximums, lifetime maximums- there are lots of of rip-off insurances accessible, bypass with a properly-known call- United, Blue bypass, Kaiser and do study previously procuring something. while you're healthy- evaluate no longer getting it. a doctor's place of work bypass to is approximately 60 greenbacks- evaluate the cost of no longer having it in any respect. FOR EXAMPLE_Ameriplan isn't coverage, that's a "low value" application the place the carriers conform to settle for decrease costs than conventional- which they do for all coverage companies. greater effective to easily ask your docs, tell them you're paying out of pocket and ask in the event that they'll settle for "standard and generic" controlled care costs from you. NO reason to pay Ameriplan 50 greenbacks a month- that's six hundred money a twelve months- except you're "ill" and function considerable medical expenditures, you probobly would not spend six hundred money a twelve months paying out of pocket.
