I was on zoloft for two years. I think depression has become a very 'normal' thing in our society today. You have to remeber the depression is in your mind and you CAN control it. That is how i got off zoloft. You should look into alternative theapy when you feel up to. It took me a full year on the zoloft before I was even ready to try to find other ways of dealing with my depression. I now only have an occasional bout with it but I am able to see it for what it is and do things to prevent it from getting a strong hold on me and pulling me down. For me my depression stemmed from family issues that I was not even aware of. I started reading my bible and praying and was soon able to overcome my depression. I have been off zoloft for 6 years now but everyday is a battle to stay deppession free. Sometimes I do better than others but dont let yourself feel bad cause you have to take a pill for it. When I got off the zoloft I was mentally ready not to need it anymore so I had no side effects.

I'm a little confused by your question.. if you are taking zolofft for depresion- you should be monitored by wahtever heathcare practioner prescribed it to wean off. Abrutply stoping could cause sideeffects like headcahes, shakiness, maybe trouble sleeping ets.
If you jsut started taking zoloft- it can take up to 2 weeks to kick in- so be patient- and give it a chance- meantime if you are getting therapy keep it up, physical excerise, etc.
Everyone is different- but this is generally a well tolerated anti-depressant with minimal side effects- and doasages can be adjsuted- along with verious options.
Depression can be treated- and meds are really a godsend part of the treatment.
