Some people develop scar tissue at a faster rate than others, could be your issue. I would think that the doc wouldn't want that to occur, with the nerve growth and all, I had two hernias, ventral type, and I just breezed through my surgeries, up and out in a couple hours. I would be asking what is going to happen now? More surgery to rid the scar tissue, injuections to dissolve it maybe? I think I would take a more agressive approach with the doc, tell him you want answers and remedies, was this a risk of surgery, I don't know, maybe, but still..............it's there, address the issue we have now.

I had the same type of Hernia surgery 3 1/2 months ago. I have been in pain ever since my surgery. I have been getting the run around from my surgeon who is suppose to be one very good. He is clueless and not helpful at all. However, I did end up in the E.R. last weekend (because the pain was SO bad) and they had some information that was helpful. The surgeon that was on that night came down and felt the area where my surgery was done and felt the mesh because it was a lump where my hernia was. The E.R. doctor and the surgeon both agreed that it was most likely scar tissue and nerves that are tangled up in the mesh which can be painful. I was told by yet another doctor that they don't go in a fix that a least a year since your surgery because they could make it worse. I have pain every single day 24-7! Pain killers don't help either. I just had an MRI and waiting for the results maybe that will confirm something. Good luck to you. I am still trying to get answers!
