Probably best to pour your champagne into flutes, which help keep the fizz. By the time you finish a beer tankard full, the plonk will be flat!
What the heck! A tankard of champers sounds great!
PS. Did you know that by placing a teaspoon, handle in first, into the champagne bottle neck, helps keep the drink fizzy!

assuming your tankard is about a pint then you may be interested to know that Winston Churchill was of the belief that bottle of champagne is too much and half a bottle isn't enough. He had Pol Roger produce a pint size bottle especially for him.

If you are drinking alone.....I would say ummmmmmm yes......if you have company.......I would say no. My favorite sparkling wine is Austi Spumonti by Martini and Rossi. It is relatively inexpensive but tastes like it is top shelf!!!
