I believe this is what is called Niroda Sanya in Pali. When you become an Arahath, your mind recognizes signal of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception that would stop the creation of Karma by eliminating Asrava. As long as you have Asrava, you cannot terminate the formation of Karma from Vinnyana. Hence, you broke the circle of life.

Buddha explains our life by taking an example from a seed.

Vinnyana is the seed, karma is the soil, and desire is water. When you eliminate the desire to your six senses made by Vinnyana (mind, body, tongue, eyes, nose, ears), you stopped adding water to the seed to grow. Just like an oil lamp, it will not glow once the oil and the wick is burnt off.

Thus, you attain the state of Nirvana because the seed will not grow again without water.

Any comments are suggestions? Please don’t give any rude answers if you don’t know what I am talking.

My comment is, it is definitely a good question, in order to help Buddhists understand its teachings better, but it is the wrong place to ask such things since most people here don't even understand what the basis of Buddhism is! Then my suggestion would be, why don't you try asking this to an experienced meditation teacher/Abhidhamma scholar who can translate this in an even more profound matter?

I feel so sorry for you since you have experienced the same thing as I did some time back but then again it doesn't stop me from answering you since I do think that it is important for people to know what the goals of Buddhism are, rather than worship etc.

Well, to go straight to the point, Nirodha itself means 'Stopping of the wheel/ceasation of turning/ceasation of becoming/ceasation itself' and Sanya means 'perception'.

This is a point where the yogi experience 'emptiness' as some would call 'Sunyata' but to be exact, it simply means the mind ceases all kinds of defilements. At this stage, there is no distinction between mind and matter since in order for matter to exist/perform there must be mind and then again you can't say that the mind don't exist since it is the mind that is being in conscious with the present moment. Therefore, it is just exactly as the description of being 'exist but not in existence'.

Does this explanation give you the goosebumps? You might now understand about the seed, oil lamp and wick stuff since this state of mind is clear comprehension of the state of reality, not created, not self and not permanent.

This stage is attainable after the yogi realizes higher stages of insight in introspective meditation.

Hope this helps. It is the best I could give, shortest in its longest explanation and it is almost impossible to write about this since I've not experienced this and most experienced people would never talk about it since it has to be experienced by oneself :-)

Good luck!

The circle is a wonder full symbol. In looking at the circle there is an inside and outside, self and others. Also the ring is the wheel of birth and death. As the moon throws off death in the process of becoming the full moon, all things are born again. Now get rid of the ring, all things are no things, all is nirvana, it {nirvana} is all things. All is Buddha. These are only words on paper the best they can do is point, once found, this no thing, is all things.

Wow, Richard D. You're pretty experienced with the CAPS function. Although, you're laying the preaching on pretty heavy.

God is made of 3 persons. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. All 3 added together is God, BUT each one by THEMSELVES is God.

Every HUMAN is a SPIRIT, we have a SOUL and we live in a physical BODY. You are a spirit, you have a soul and your spirit and soul are inside your physical body. (It is your spirit and soul that goes to heaven, not your physical body).

It is impossible to please God without faith. 2000 years ago God sent His only Son (LOOK TO THE FIRST PARAGRAPH TO REALISE WHO THE SON ACTUALLY IS) to die for the sins of the whole world. We ALL inherited sin from Adam when SATAN deceived Adam to sin in the Garden of Eden. AND on top of that we ALL sin everyday. (There would be no such thing as sin in the world if Satan did not exist).

In the eyes of God - we are FILTHY SINNERS because ON TOP of inheriting sin from ADAM, Satan CONTINUOUSLY DECEIVES the world to sin. So EVERYBODY in this world is FULL OF SIN. God HATES SIN.

NO FILTHY SINNER can get into heaven. This is why God kicked Lucifer (who is Satan) out of heaven - He was a sinner. But God made a way for us to clean ALL our sins away and get into Heaven.

2000 years ago, God sent His ONLY SON JESUS CHRIST to die, SPECIFICALLY for YOU in order to "purchase" your FILTHY sins so that ALL your sins will be taken away. THREE days later, God RAISED Jesus Christ from the dead and Jesus went to heaven taking with Him all your FILTHY sins.
It says in the Word of God:

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

("Perish" in the above scripture means GO TO HELL).

THE ONE AND ONLY WAY to go to HEAVEN is to:
1. Say with you mouth and believe in your heart (your spirit) that Jesus Christ is your Lord and personal Saviour and that God raised Him from the dead taking away your sins.
2. Ask God to clean away your filth and take away ALL your sins.

When you do this by FAITH The Holy Spirit (LOOK TO THE FIRST PARAGRAPH TO REALISE WHO THE HOLY SPIRIT ACTUALLY IS) will LIVE inside your spirit and God will recognise you as one of His Children, and when you die you will go to Heaven.
