Why do people that claim they praise God call themselves a name that was only mentioned 3 times in the Bible? vs Saints, which was mentioned way over a good 30 times and it was in the Old Testament?

Christ is mentioned much more than 3 times. Christians are called Christians, because they believe in Christ.

Saints and Holy mean the same thing. Everyone who is born of God is Holy (Saint). We are to renew our minds in His Word.

Christians should call themself saints. Don't forget the gathering of the saints especially when the day of Christ is nearing. That is Church.

Many Christians, say, "I'm a sinner, I'm not a saint.". Well then they aren't a true born of God Christian either. Christians sin after born of God, but can't abide in sin (make sin a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within.

I see what you mean. at my old church we called ourselves disciples, because that term is the most common one when referring to the followers of Christ. but i guess one reason might be because "saint" has become a completely different term. it used to be that any christian was a saint, now, according to the catholic church, there is a certain criteria you have to fulfill in order to become an "official" saint. as for the term disciple, it is applicable in many situations. any one who is a follower of someone is considered a disciple. Christian means "little Christ" which is what we strive to be, and there is no double meaning of it or whatever. but call yourself what you want. it doesn't really matter, God just wants to make sure you act like a christian saint disciple whatever you want to call yourself.

God bless!

Because we're learning not to be afraid of the name saints....Christians were first called that at Antioch and we are more comfortable with that than saints...but as God's people we are the saints.

If you are talking about God's name, the holy tetragrammaton, it is mentioned over 7,000 times in the original manuscripts. Why it is mentioned only 3 times is another story.

You have either been watching Benny Hinn too much--or you've come to the realization that labels are quite meaningless.

It does not matter what you are called. As long as you accept Jesus Christ into your spirit.

God is made of 3 persons. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. All 3 added together is God, BUT each one by THEMSELVES is God.

Every HUMAN is a SPIRIT, we have a SOUL and we live in a physical BODY. You are a spirit, you have a soul and your spirit and soul are inside your physical body. (It is your spirit and soul that goes to heaven, not your physical body).

It is impossible to please God without faith. 2000 years ago God sent His only Son (LOOK TO THE FIRST PARAGRAPH TO REALISE WHO THE SON ACTUALLY IS) to die for the sins of the whole world. We ALL inherited sin from Adam when SATAN deceived Adam to sin in the Garden of Eden. AND on top of that we ALL sin everyday. (There would be no such thing as sin in the world if Satan did not exist).

In the eyes of God - we are FILTHY SINNERS because ON TOP of inheriting sin from ADAM, Satan CONTINUOUSLY DECEIVES the world to sin. So EVERYBODY in this world is FULL OF SIN. God HATES SIN.

NO FILTHY SINNER can get into heaven. This is why God kicked Lucifer (who is Satan) out of heaven - He was a sinner. But God made a way for us to clean ALL our sins away and get into Heaven.

2000 years ago, God sent His ONLY SON JESUS CHRIST to die, SPECIFICALLY for YOU in order to "purchase" your FILTHY sins so that ALL your sins will be taken away. THREE days later, God RAISED Jesus Christ from the dead and Jesus went to heaven taking with Him all your FILTHY sins.
It says in the Word of God:

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

("Perish" in the above scripture means GO TO HELL).

THE ONE AND ONLY WAY to go to HEAVEN is to:
1. Say with you mouth and believe in your heart (your spirit) that Jesus Christ is your Lord and personal Saviour and that God raised Him from the dead taking away your sins.
2. Ask God to clean away your filth and take away ALL your sins.

When you do this by FAITH The Holy Spirit (LOOK TO THE FIRST PARAGRAPH TO REALISE WHO THE HOLY SPIRIT ACTUALLY IS) will LIVE inside your spirit and God will recognise you as one of His Children, and when you die you will go to Heaven.
