windows vista is currently going through its most important period, post release
this is when the bugs and faults(if any) are going to be found and reported to microsoft,so in the next 18 months the vista o/s will be a better running operating system than the one you are using now
this is the same for software manufacturers, until they get feedback on their products they cant publish patches to fix them, you cant fix a problem that you havent found yet
your problem with printing spreadsheets is more than likely a problem with your printer than a problem with your software
the main reason for so many problems with vista is that the actual way the code has been written is completely different to all previous versions of windows, the windows frame has basically been stripped right down to the core and re-wrote for the 21st century
a visit to your printers website would be a good idea, using vista as a keyword search and also go to the microsoft knowledge base(http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1),this is allways a excellent source of essential information
in breif, windows xp will be here for a good 5 years or so,but its a worrying sign when microsoft have allready issued a date for pulling the plug on support for vista(2012)
hopefully next time around the name may be a bit more appealing
good luck

it will be wonderful in 12 months time, now its got more bugs than a insect house at the zoo. Total rip off, will not work with 90% of hardware, and takes up so much memory, it is going to need a new generation of machine un yet developed, to work with software like games.

I have it and it is shite. I can't use any cracked programs, keygens and patches; Also i can't use certain programs like Tune-up Utilities 2007. And Vista prevents me from using Limewire Pro, what it does is disconnect it from the internet so it can't download anything.

Problems with drivers for printer, camera, graphics card and would not accept memory stick which contained data i required, gone back to XP and all working again. Unless it comes with new computer I would recommend leaving alone and stick with XP for now
