When you are looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with, and you want to be with your soul mate, what exactly does it mean? I heard a lot about it, but I am not completely sure of the words 'soul mate.' Can someone give their definition of soul mate?

Like they say Sex mate, Work make, Room mate, your soul...you most private thoughts and comfort level has a mate as well...you should be comfortable with them, you both should think alike and be at harmony...they recommend that you marry your soul mate but lots of times this doesn't happen...and you two stay soul mates and love each other but want the best for each other as well...

My idea of a soulmate is someone you can be yourself with, who understands you and doesn't judge you. This person is never jealous, completes trusts you and has no reason not to. I believe that before people are born, a single soul in a higher place splits in two. When a person is born, they only have half a soul. Your soulmate has the other half of your soul. And when you meet that person, your half-souls become one again. This person DOES NOT have to be your romantic partner. They could be your best friend. It could be two girls, two guys, or a guy and a girl and there doesn't have to be ANY sexual attraction or romantic love there at all. Its like finding something you've been missing all your life. BOTH people will feel it. On a side note--I believe if you both don't have complete understanding and trust, or if you have even the tiniest bit of doubt, then this person is NOT your soulmate.

your soul mate is the person that you can't live without. the person that makes the bad things better and the good things great. they know and understand you, if they don't understand you they do what they can to understand. your soul mate doesn't try to change who you are because they accept and love you for the person that you are. you compliment each other. you both know what the other is thinking without having to say a word. your soul mate inspires you to be better because they bring out the best in you. you are like two pieces of a puzzle, but each piece must be able to exist on its own. its a mutually beneficiary relationship, this is how both are able to grow together. You will know your soul mate when you see that person.

There is a theory that we are reincarnated from one life to the next, and that we travel with the same souls, over and over. So the person who is your sister in this life might have been your best friend in another life and your child in another life before that.
Your soul mate is the person that your heart and soul loves, from one life to another, from one body to another. You recognize them somehow when you meet them, which we sometimes call "love at first sight." And you feel that immediate comfort with them that you usually only feel with people you've known for years. They are the person that you wait for, life time after life time, because loving them for one life just isn't enough.

He stays by your side through storms and peace and cares for your mental and physical health. He stays loyal to you for the rest of your life. He is the one meant for you, or what we call Mr. Right.

check it out i was married and it was the pits it was nothing like i though then i met this guy and all of a sudden i knew what love was we dont fight we dont trip on where the other one is going or comming back we dont try to change each other dont tell each other what to do well its like this if you dont have trust for get it i been with him for 21 years now soul mate

I believe not the soul twin exists, but if the person exists that us full, he is by whom we smile, with whom we feel agusto, and that always we want to be with that person, does not have explication.

to me a soulmate is a person that you totally get in every way, and thay totally get you you guys have no secrets no inhibitions everything is out in the open and you see no shame period!when you see that person you see yourself.
