There isn't truly peace anywhere in the world. People sit and argue over the dumbest things. Look at this board for example. Some people think Europe is evil, some say the US is or Canada. There is the middle east, Kashmir between India and Pakistan, Darfur, and the list goes on and on. It's not only the Middle East that is having a bit of a personality clash. It's not so much that there won't be peace until Christ returns, but there will not be peace as long as there are people. As long as there are people, there will be hate and there will be violence as a response to that hate. Even in this civilized country known as the US, there is someone killing someone else over hatred.

It's funny when you look at all the Mid Eastern religions. Christians and Muslims both believe that Jesus will be the one who returns to destroy the Anti-Christ. In addition to that, the Jews are still waiting for their long prophecized military leader who will finally defend them against their enemies for one final battle. It sounds like all three religions will fulfill eachother and merge into one monotheistic belief on that day if it ever comes to pass.

It's also odd that churches claim that peace will only return to the Middle East or to earth in general after Jesus returns. But yet, we humans, who are the ones at war with eachother, share no responsibility for that peace process. Talk about neglecting responsibility. Such a contradiction to "blessed are the peace makers."

I truely believe it's time for a new paradym.

I believe the answer is no. Many suppose this is merely a political issue, but it runs much deeper than this. The very existence of the Jews (and Christians) is an affront to Islam, which claims to be God's replacement for these "apostate" faiths.
But they have failed to take into account one small sentence in Romans 11:29, "For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable." No matter how badly Jews and Christians fall short of what God has called them to be, He will never fall short of the Word of His promise, and He has promised that He will establish His Chosen people Israel in the Land of their Fathers, cleanse them from their filthiness, and establish the Kingdom of David with God's Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, ruling and reigning over Israel and over the nations of the earth for 1000 years. (consider just a few promises; see Ezekiel 34:11-31 and 36:22-38)

The Israel issue is certainly a insoluable source of stress there, and can't see it being resolved until the 2nd coming. The antichrist might make his name on that as well.

The middle east probably haven't been any more warring than Europe in general. We Europeans have now passed the stage of engaging in idiotic attacks on one another, mainly because the 2 world wars were so horrendous we have learnt our lesson. They need fairer better governments. Extreme islamic governments will put them off extreme islamic government, given time.

No. Bible prophecy clearly explains that Israel will be a thorn in the side of the entire world until Jesus returns. She (Israel) is at the center of the conflicts in that area and is partially responsible for the problems felt in other parts of the world also. Do not assume that I am anti-Israel. I am not. I support her because she is God's chosen people and are still suffering the consequences of their rejection of Jesus. But, I still think God loves them the most.

A startling statistic is that 44% of americans believe Jesus will return in THEIR lifetime....

The Byzantines got what they deserved. Damn lying Filthy descendants of the plaguers of all humanity. >_< I guess if one empire isn't making up myths that halt scientific advancement and keep people from making the right, moral decisions, but instead get swayed by worthless superstition, another Empire would.

Maybe they could have picked a more stylish name though, perhaps Jimmy Hendrix instead of Jesus christ?...argg..too late now.

According to the Bible, there will be an illusion of peace there for 3 and a half years, then the anti-christ will reveal himself and then we're on the way to Armageddon.

Do as you would be done by.
God helps those who help themselves.

We don't know if/when Christ will come again. This sounds like an excuse not to think about the problem.
