I hate getting cat hair in my food and need to know a way to keep the cat off of my counter. He is a siamese mix if that helps.

Many cat owners have this problem. Try getting a squirt bottle and fill it with water. Whenever your cat jumps on the counter, squirt it once or twice and say "Get off!" or "No!" in a very stern, loud voice. Keep this up for a while, and eventually the cat will learn not to jump up on your counters. This technique works for many other undesirable habits as well.

Try putting sheets of aluminum foil on your counters. If you work, do it during the day while you're gone or at night when you sleep. When your cat jumps up and hits the foil he will get get down. If you do this for a while, he may decide not to bother going up there any more. My cat would sleep on my white dining room chairs and foil stopped it. Don't know why, but they don't like it. A vet also suggested getting an orange smelling spray and spraying it on paper towel and leaving that lay there. Cat's don't like the smell of orange either. Some vet's sell it at their office. Good luck.

The only way that I've seen work is to get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Whenever the cat jumps on the TV, the table, etc. or scratches the couch, curtains, or whatever it does that isn't good, spray it with the squirt bottle in the face. Since cats typically dislike water, they'll eventually learn that whenever they do the bad behavior, they'll get sprayed, and will stop.

Place something sticky and bad tasting on the counter - when the time comes and he leaps - after 2 - 3 times - that horrible taste and the uncomfortable sticky fur will be a lesson - - -

Well what you could try is blocking off the counter or moving the stuff. It is nothing to worry about unless it is eating things.
