I think Delana is a very supportive wife. How many other wives do you see in the same suit as there husband. My hat is off to Delana and the US Military. Everytime I have seen Delana during the National Anthem, she has always been at Kevins side. But you should watch some of the other people on there, especially when they scan the crowd. You will see many that are hootin' and hollerin', not taking off their hats, or just plain talking. Like the good ole' saying goes "I think America has forgotten"

Women are not required to remove their hat during the playing of the National Anthem. This information was supplied by my husband, who served in the US Marine Corps for over 10 years and served 4 tours of duty in Iraq. If he isn't offended by it, I don't think anyone should be.
More so than worrying about Delana Harvick wearing a hat, let's talk about some drivers who smack their gum, talk to people, and wander around during the invocation. Now, that is a great thing to teach our kids...

I'm a servicemen, and I could give a rats @ss if she wears a hat during the National Anthem. Personally, thats why I fight, to keep our country free. She can do what she wants. But I guess it's also free for you to sit there and judge her like you know anything. Oh well.

woman may leave her hat on indoors or during the playing of The National Anthem, unless it is considered unisex like a baseball cap. When wearing such a unisex cap, a woman should follow the same guidelines as for men.
That was the explaination I got when I Googled, but I feel they should have to remove their hats for something as treasured as The National Anthem...it's just the right thing to do

Get over it, while the playing of the national anthem may hold meaning to some people some people dont care. Its obvious she is belonging to the people who dont care, she probably doesnt know anybody that has served their country in combat and it doesnt hit home for her. I could care less, as a combat vet the only thing that upsets me during the playing is people who act like nothing is going on and they are in their own world. Not my right to judge though.

It was not an insult to anyone, except those who do not know that women are encouraged not to remove thier "cover".
If you want to talk about insulting, let us talk about the 4 or 6 times last year that Matt Kennseth was already strapped in his car during the National Anthem.

It has always been sign of reverence and respect for women to wear hats/covered heads in church and in the presence of the flag- so in essence, that as not unpatriotic- however I don't know what her other repeated activities were...so perhaps THEY were rude.
