Ambien is not your best choice. First of all, it is a prescription med and I do not believe doctors give that prescription to a 13 year old. Secondly, the air pressure in the cabin is less than on the ground so the med will actually increase. Ambien is too strong for you.

I would suggest an over the counter aid such as Benedryl. It has the same content as Bayer PM without the pain reliever. It will help you sleep and is not dangerous.

You should not take Ambien without a prescription. If you have a prescription, I would say go ahead and use it if you feel you will have enough time to sleep.

do you have rx? If not, you should not be taking other peoples' meds!

My personal eastbound MO: nap a bit on plane, sack out immediately after arriving at lodging in Europe, get up in time for dinner....go to bed at normal time. Next day I am (almost) normal again!
