Why do people do this like drink through tubes?

Its not a tube...its a beer bong. It just puts the beer in your stomach faster and the alcohol will get into your blood stream faster than if you were just sipping it. You could drink one beer in 20 mins or you can bong a beer in 5 seconds, the alcohol content is the same but the difference is in the time it takes to enter the blood stream.

it's just for fun and to drink the alcohol quicker. They're bored also.

It's for the buzz/drunk high.
If you intake the alcohol without air exchange you get a better buzz/drunken state.
