I need help finding out the biochemical pathway of morphine and how it affects the body! I need to know how the structure is related to its function and I haven't been able to find it. Help!

Mercy! What you need is a good reference to read. See if you can find a copy of Goodman and Gilman's Principles and Practice of Pharmacology (Don't hold me to the exact title...) and look up the opiates. G&G has excellent, if somewhat technical, explanations of what we know--probably more than you need, unless you're in medical school or doing research into endorphin receptors or something.

Your library may not have a copy of Gilman, but they can probably get it for you without trouble.

I have to tell you, though, that structure-function relationships usually require a course in organic chemistry to wade through, and it takes at least a little knowledge of neurochemistry and biochemistry to make sense of some of the answers you're going to find...

Not sure exactly what or how much you want. If it's simple pharmacokinetics, you can get an overview pretty easily from sources like PDR. If you're really masochistic, you can overwhelm yourself just looking at mu-1 receptor sites in a MedLine search.
