I got a tattoo on my lower back in the beginning of January, and I want to start tanning, is there a special tanning lotion you can use to put over it? I don't want there to be a white circle around my tattoo because I have to put sunblock on it...

I use SPF30 lip balm on my tatoo. So simple, and works like a charm. And because it's a stick - it's like coloring in the lines.

You can tan with a tattoo, but in the long run it will cause the colors to fade. You might want to consult with the original tattoo artist to see if he or she has any suggestions on the care and feeding of your tat for the upcoming summer months ;-)

Use sunblock... The more sun/tanning exposure to your tattoo, the faster it will fade and look bad. The choice is yours.. but the longer you take care of something, the longer it will look good.... this includes your entire body..inside and out.

tattoos will fade easily and quickly if you dont use sun block. try using a low spf like 8 or 15 all over your tattoo...most people will still tan when they use a low spf sun screen, but this will still protect your tattoo. try not to tan too often, or try an alternative like a self tanner or tinted moisturizer.

you can't have it both ways toots. you want a tat you give up the sun. YOU MUST use at least 45 on that tat or your going to lose your investment, and anyways the sun is not good for your skin at all. 15 minutes maybe 2-3 times a week

Use a Waterbabies sunblock stick that's what they told me to use over mine. It's supposed to help keep the color from fading.
