I think I can offer the most balanced point of view available:

This question will get absolutely filled with atheists proclaiming there is no god, and theists saying the exact opposite. This makes it very difficult to make an informed decision when you're currently on middle ground and the only opinions you have available are extremes.

Religion does not have proof of God's existence. You have believe on faith. I personally don't, but that is not to say that after reading the Bible or going to church you'd feel the same.

Do a little homework, read the bible, read some darwin books..get a nice balance. And then decide for yourself.

It's an unanswerable question because God cannot be proved real or not - so you're going have to rely on your own judgement.

Good luck!

You're at a good age to start exploring this issue. There is no scientific proof that God does or does not exist. First you can't prove a negative (can you prove that there aren't any purple cows in the world? No. You can prove it's extremely unlikely but that's not the same)

As far as God's existence goes I can point to things that I think strongly IMPLY his existence. I look at the incredible complexity of the world around me and I cannot fathom how it would happen by chance. (Look up a theory called Old Earth creationism. I'd recommend some books, but I think they'd be a little over your head) for a look at how science and faith are not as incompatible as you might think.

Don't be afraid to ask question. Ask your pastor, ask your parents, ask your youth group leader. Asking questions and thinking critically about what you believe is not the same as denying or losing faith.

Hope this helps

Different people have different conceptions of deities. Some people believe that there exists supremely good and evil deities. Some people believe there is a supreme being who metes out ultimate justice. Some people believe god is a being who simply possesses supreme power. Why the human preoccupation with the concept of a higher being? Perhaps it is the realization that there are so many things in life that are not within our control. First of all, your genes determine so many things -- maybe many more than we will ever know -- about you before you are even born. It could be said that your GENES are a "supreme being". They are certainly " bigger" than you are -- without them you wouldn't even exist. However, that does not mean you must fear them, because they also provided you instincts to survive.

Addendum: With respect to the comment by Daren000, "...In the laws of nature and universal laws there is order, and order cannot come out of chaos and it cannot come about by accident nor by chance, it has to be implemented. For example, if I had a handful of quarters and tossed it in the air, what is the chance of me tossing those quarters in the air and have it come down stacked upon each other, heads up, the words 'United States of America' aligned, with the dates from lowest to highest all in order? The chances of that is zero...."

If you take a broad look at the Planet Earth -- freezing in some places and sweltering hot in others, continents all misshapen, the land rough in some places yet smooth in others, rivers winding here and there -- it looks no more orderly than the handful of quarters strewn on the ground. If a supreme being "implemented" the order here, it apparently didn't finish the job.

I see God in the order of the Universe and nature. It seems to require a larger leap of faith for me to beleive that all the little parts of nature fit together and interact by mere coincidence. I am no religious person at all, but I will also have to tell you that in times of despair I have called on God for help and I got it. Once in a very crazy inexplicable way. This is gonna sound like advice from a Holy roller or something but God does answer you when you ask him a question. But don't expect a burning bush or flaming angel to give you the answer.

The short answer is that we don't. People have been trying for millennia to prove or disprove the existence of god, and nobody has come close; it is unlikely that anyone will ever be able to do so. Noted Catholic theologian Hans Kung, in a huge book entitled Does God Exist?, examined the matter in excruciating detail and concluded that it is not possible by logic or evidence to either prove or disprove the existence of god, so you can take your pick. (You will not be surprised at what his choice was.) Since the existence of god cannot be disproven, it follows that no theory of god can have any use in the real world, so it is convenient to simply ignore such.

How can their not be a designer. The proof of his existence is all around us in the sun, moon, grass, stars, sky, plants, animals and all the things around us. In the earth, Which is the right size, the perfect distance from the sun , has the perfect tilt, mixture of gases to support life, and a life cycle. We see design in ourselves as humans. We have brains and a nerve center that store knowledge and memories plus it tell us when we are in pain. We have ears that we can hear just the right amout not to little so we could hear others talk and not to much we can Hear air molecules passing through our ears. We have eyes to see plant and animals and all Creation. We have a heart to pump blood throughout are body. We have lungs to breathe in air. We have reproduction organs to continue God cycle.
Every part of our body has a purpose and was designed perfectly.
God has given us more proof for him in the Bible,The most accurate book of its time period.
God has a plan for us.

God wants you to live with him forever.
If you believe in your heart and confess with you mouth Jesus is Lord you shall be saved.

Answer this question: "Can something bring itself into existence?"

If you are earnestly seeking for the truth then answer that question with an unbiased mind set and be honest with yourself.

Logically, concerning that question, there can be only one right answer. Any other answer given would be a result of ones biased opinion to defend their reasonings. The obvious answer is no because something cannot bring itself into existence unless it already exists. Everything that is made has to have a maker.

Furthermore, if I was to step off of a 30 story building and say, "I don't believe in gravity." Will that change reality? No. If I go against the order of the law of gravity I would have to face the consequences.

In the laws of nature and universal laws there is order, and order cannot come out of chaos and it cannot come about by accident nor by chance, it has to be implemented. For example, if I had a handful of quarters and tossed it in the air, what is the chance of me tossing those quarters in the air and have it come down stacked upon each other, heads up, the words 'United States of America' aligned, with the dates from lowest to highest all in order? The chances of that is zero. None.

Order cannot come out of chaos and it cannot come about by accident nor by chance, an intelligent mind has to implement that order.

"Well, if God created everything then who created God?"

To say "Who created God?" would only lead to "Then who created the who that created God?" and so on, and so forth. This would lead to an infinite number of regressions which cannot be because the Universe isn't infinite.

You see, in order for us to reach the present state of God who created the heavens and earth there would have to be an infinite number of regressions in the past. For example, the numbers 1-10. In order for us to reach ten we would have to cross the boundaries of one to reach two, cross the boundaries of two to reach three, etc., until we reach ten.

Now in order for us to get to the present we would have to cross an infinity of regressions, or boundaries, which is impossible because infinity has no boundaries -- it cannot be crossed. And since infinity has no boundaries, and cannot be crossed, and based on the premise that something cannot bring itself into existence, then an Uncaused Cause is the only logical answer.

Isaiah 43:10 God says, "Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me."

Lastly, God did create heaven and hell; however, hell was created for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41) not mankind. It is the choices that we make in this lifetime that will determine our eternal future.

Addendum: Orderlylogic -- I appreciate your opinions concerning my opinions. However, I was referring specifically to the laws of nature (law of reciprocity) and universal laws, not geographical areas. Geographical areas evolve whereas laws are already set.

first of all don't let anybody tell you God isn't real, because he is, he is the source of life. God is always with you everywhere you go, every second of the day, even when we are sleeping. I have something called blind faith, i don't have to see things to believe them. i don't know how he is always with us and i can't give you a answer as to why but he is always with us no matter what. He's God, that's how its possible, He's God and thats all i know. God Bless you!

Given time I could prove to you that God exists.
What I can't prove is that God is here now, active in our lives. That takes faith. Once you are in contact with the Holy spirit you can get to know God and no further proof is needed.
