If it's 5 foot by 5 foot, then you should be able to get 2 on each side, ie; 8 people. If its a rectanglular table with 5 foot length and a shorter width then 6.
Bob: I'm sure you don't need 5ft eating space for each person do you? I guess it does depend how much food you got there ;)

comforably you need about 30" per placesetting. so a 5'x5' table would handle 4 to 6. a 5' diameter round table could handle 6 or maybe 7 settings.
[ pi*D= circumference] 3.14*60"=188.4"/30"=6.28 places
of course, once we had lunch in NY, NY at a very busy dinner and they put 8 of us around a 30" dia. table so who know really...

5ft by what? The information you provided is not enough.
A table that has an approx. length of 4 feet and 2.5 width can seat ABOUT four people.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.
