30 years ago, my father actually said this at my wedding. "I'd like to welcome Joe into the family. As you all probably know, Joe is a plumber. Well, he'll be laying some pipe tonight." My dad was up on the stage saying this. The whole room got very quite for a minute, then everyone started busting out laughing. My mom was so embarrassed and I was turning every shade of red you could imagine. I was the first of 4 girls in my family to get married in 1978. Dad wasn't allowed to speak at the rest of the weddings. Mine is the only one everyone remembers though. BTW, we're still together and have 5 kids.

The young couple should be very happy. Both of them love the bridegroom.

At the wedding the bridesmaids wept, the mother wept, the bride wept, and even the cake was in tiers.

On the night of the question, I did send these to the email address, along with the source.

I could tell you a lot of nice things about the groom but I'd be lying.
I have been teaching the groom two words which will guarantee a good marriage - 'Yes dear'.

Believe it or not...my brother's best man actually used this at their wedding!

"Marriage is an institution; and who wants to live in an institution all their life?????"

I still can't believe it, but he most have known something, because they're now divorced!

When I toasted my sister and b-i-l at their rehearsal dinner, I gave a very emotional speech, and closed with, "And Brian, I just want to leave you with this one thought from one of my favorite movies: If you ever hurt my sister, I'll kill you and make it look like an accident." (From "My Big Fat Greek Wedding")
