SUVs with good gas mileage?

I live in rural WY, so I really need a 4WD or AWD vehicle. But my boyfriend and I drive all over the place and travel a lot, so I also want something that's more economical than my 97' Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I know that Subaru's make good vehicles, but what other SUVs are there that are 4WD and get good gas mileage?

In my region (Chicago) new 2007 Hybrid Escapes can qualify for 0% financing up to 60 months AND a $500 rebate.

Maintenance is LESS frequent (vs non-hybrid Escape) & all hybrid componants are warranteed for at least 100,000 miles.

Makes me wonder why everybody isn't driving one?
But I already know that answer. Most of the people here @ YA have misconceptions about Hybrids.
Don't listen to the nay-sayers,.....go take one for a test drive. See for yourself!

Get a compact SUV with a 4 cyl. first of all.
I'd go with a Rav 4 of CR-V. Just don't waste the money on a hybrid SUV. You'll never make the money back

My Jeep Liberty gets good gas mileage, 20something miles per gallon.

well you can trying looking at a 4cyl SUV like the rav 4,honda crv as well as the highlander they all get good mpg,if you want something more spacious you can also look at the nissan murano which has 6cyl and gets 20-24 mpg

nissan xterra is a good model with great opptions 4cyl 4x4 or v6 xe 4x4 and old pathfinders

Stop asking this question over and over again.... and get a Honda CR-V (30mpg) or Toyota RAV4 (30mpg)
