I want an original, fun, wedding. It will be in a hotels convention center at night therefore I was thinking about turning it into a mardi gras-like carnival after midnight but I am not fully convinced, I want another idea that will make my wedding unforgetable and different than the rest.

Masquerade ball, circus, i really like the Mardi Gras Theme, have flame throwers or exotic animals or acrobats. You can have a "club or 70's" theme where you can have it turn into something like a disco. Make it into a casino theme for guests after midnight- get tables dealers, cards and things such like that...maybe you can make it so that they win coupons and can turn it in for gifts (or their party favors)
Sounds like you are on a good path though!

Do thhe mardi gras theme! It will be fun and colorful, and a night to remember. It will break the chain of conventional, old fashioned weddings, wth a boring after party. Those are not fun to go to. But, if you end the wedding with a mardi- gras party, or even hawaiin themed, or some kind of midnight celebrity, it would be fun, and you guests would enjoy it. Don't forget to have lots and lots of mardi gras beads on handy. And, I know that this sounds corny, but how but a medieval time period party, like on gilmore girls, without the medieval wedding, unless your into that. The show tried to make it funny, but it could still turn out great.

Great idea! I love the Mardi Gras theme, you can get tons of good stuff! I would do the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball theme. I am from Louisiana and am very into the Mardi Gras theme, but it is a hit for everyone anywhere-a novelty thing!
For your favors, you could purchase authemtic Mardi Gras beads and use them!

I'm sure on your wedding night you can purswade even the grumpyest person there to have a bounce!
Think of your wedding photos! You'll be sky high.. Literaly!

have everyone hold a candle and start lighting it in the back and have them continue lighting it until it reaches candles that you and your fiance are going to be holding in front of everyone and then light one big candle together. makes for a cool effect if you're outside.

rent a photo booth (like the 1's you find at the shore) for your guests to take pics of themselves and leave behing for you.
