No way: cigarettes are laced with all kinds of toxins, but marijuana almost never is (or shouldn't be -- it's smart to buy from a trusted source, of course).

Also, smokers consume way more cigarettes in a day than they'd do doobies. Very few marijuana smokers would do, say, three or more a day. So the carcinogen volume from marijuana is a tiny fraction of the crap you'd get from cigarettes.

Smoking is smoking not matter what you smoke, but I'll take the Mary Jane any day before a nicotine cig (I'm allergic to those things). Besides, whoever died from pot? (No, I don't smoke pot)
PS Where is the evidence based studies for killing brain cells, and if this is the case, why is it still sold as Medicinal with RX and for all that, we should not take anything because the same or worse could happen with anything. Also, chemo and radiation. Come on people!
I'm a nurse, too.

Having been in AA for over 10yrs and also having recovering drug addicts in our AA Club as well and hearing all of the testimonies I have heard on marijuana addiciton I can tell you right now it IS as addictive as cigarettes and among recovering drug addicts they also say it is a "gateway drug",in other words it is a drug that opens the gate for the use of other drugs that are worse than marijuana or cigarettes.(EVERYONE of those people in drug recovery will tell you they started their whole drug career with marijuana.)
Both marijuana and cigarettes have their addictive attributes. . good and bad but most importantly. . . Marijuana is ILLEGAL.
Marijuana is suppose to be legal if prescribed for the treatment of glaucoma and in some instances as an antinausea medication after chemotherapy but after 30+yrs in the medical profession and after speaking with the Ophthalmologist (eye Dr) that I worked with I have been told that the benefits of theraputic marijuana use is very very rarely used and if my neighbor suffering from the effects of treating her Ovarian cancer for the last 8 yrs could have been given marijuana for the nausea she has suffered she would have taken it but they NEVER even offered it to her because they too can not justify it's benefits for use.
A drug is a drug is a drug is a drug. . . Anything that you use to change the way you feel is addictive be it food, cigarettes,
alcohol,sex,drugs,shopping,shoplifting etc.
Wake up and quit trying to find justification for bad behavior

It depends on what you think is harmful, but I can give you the facts...
Marijuana does not have the physical addiction that nicotene, from cigarettes, contains.
However, cigarettes have filters that prevent direct smoke from and nicotene from entering your body and harming you more.
Marijuana does not have a filter since it is not manufactured so the harm you are doing to your lungs is worse. Also, marijuana kills brain cells, that's how you get high. Cigarettes do not.
Commonalities: Both have addictive (physical and psychological) properties and both damage your lungs.

I think smoking cigarettes are way worse because cigarettes are man made, with chemicals.marijuana is a natural plant .not full of chemicals ,but marijuana is still not the way to go.it's like drinking 24 pack of beer in one blunt.

Cigarettes are worse because of the additives that manufacturers put in to aid growing, and to keep the tobacco burning. If tobacco were grown more "naturally" (the same as marijuana) they would be equally bad.

If you grow your own bush buds and feed em with organic fertalizer , water and natural sunlight then i would definately say it is better for you than cigarettes, But most bud is hydro grown with quite a lot of chemicals in it, but cigarrettes have over 4000 toxic chemicals in them. I used to mix half tobacco half weed and chop it up real finely and have blessed bongs but after ten years it takes its toll, and now i'm too paranoid about getting mouth, throat and lung cancer. Best bet is to smoke natural bush bud through a bong (water filtered) and only occasionally

No, to me it is about the same, if someone wants to smoke Pot let them. Though I do think Marijuana has more carcinogens than cigarettes, but I am sure it is healthier in ways.

I don't think it's as bad for the simple fact that marijuana is a natural herb and tobacco has so many different chemicals in it
