THE GOLDEN RULE ...............
Only start potty training when THEY show interest!!
Don't push, negotiate, bribe, coax, or anything.
It will only make them regress even if they are becoming success full.
Let them sit on the potty for hours if THEY want to, or sit for 2 seconds a hundred times a day.
Really speaking you show them time or two then your child takes the lead and learns on their own pace.
Now I only had a daughter so, I don't know if it works the same way with a boy. But I am proud to say she is 4 years old now and NEVER had any kinds of accidents none in bed or in the pants.

I never set an age for my children, I bought the potty seat and they just played with it. So I went and bought the little seat that you put on the big toilet for chidlren, much easier for them and less mess for me. Anyway, I just waited until I thought my children fully understood directions and understood the idea of the toilet. Every child is different. Boys usually train later than girls. My friend had a little girl and was obsessed with her being trained by two (because that was what she had been told was right) she fought her and fought her for a year and a half, and when she was 4 she was still having accidents a lot. With my older boys, I just waited. My oldest trained one month before he was three and did it in 3 days, only had a few accidents at night after that. My second was trained just a couple months earlier. It was the same with him, he took about a week and the only accidents we had were at night. Just be patient and don't push her till she is ready, this will cause more accidents later on. Ignore people who say they must be trained by 2. My youngest is now 21 months and not at all interested, so I am not even giving it a second thought. Good luck and be patient

My granddaughter, will be 2 in April and she is doing very well at potty training, she says Potty and we take her, so goes, she has the idea now and it just takes time and some patience with the little ones and a lot of time in the bathroom. I started by having her sit on her potty and read to her, when she was comfortable with that, it just comes natural.
Good luck.

The normal age for potty training is, sadly 2-3 years. I think it's a complete waste of money and diapers, but evidently it saves time for busy parents. I stay at home with my baby girl, and first put her on the potty at 4 months. She went. Now she goes almost every time I put her on it. I talk to her a lot about it, she wears little underwear on days we will be home (not shopping, etc) and can go all night with a dry diaper. I'm not saying she's smarter than other babies; I just have had more time to spend with her and put her on the potty every half hour or when she wakes up from naps. At about nine or ten months, I started giving her little candies when she would go on the potty. I also praise her when she is dry, and if she has an accident with underwear on, I don't scold her, but I act sad because her little underwear are all wet and we have to take them off. She really likes underwear, because we talk about them so much and she knows they're special. She likes using the potty--we sing songs while she sits on it. I've heard a lot of good ideas--taking juice with you, so she needs to go sooner, taking treats, candy, etc. Mostly, just talk to her about it a log. Little tykes understand a lot more than we give them credit for. Good luck!

I don't think there is any ceratin age they have to be but I think most people start their children between 2 and 3. Every child is different though so don't get discouraged if the child doesn't pick it up as easy as you thought. Good luck because I know that potty training can be hard work for mom and child.

2 1/2 at the VERY earliest. before that, you're just in for a war, unless the kiddo shows an insane amount of interest. I wouldn't push, let her use the potty when she wants to, make it fun, don't have high expectations let HER be in control.
I started at 2 with my oldest and it was WW3, I gave up for awhile and one week before she turned 3 she pt'd fully no fight.
I'm waiting til my youngest is almost 3 to even introduce it.

I think what you are doing right now is perfect. Keep the potty seat out and let her sit on it whenever and start talking about everything. I wish I would have started doing this with my son around 18 mos or so when he wasn't so stubborn. He is almost 3 now and we are moving very slowly in this area.....

it varies a whole load but if she isnt showing any signs of being ready then dont pressure her about it. if you try before she is ready then it will all take so much longer. not many children are ready before they are two and altho girls tend to be earlier than boys it is not exact! maybe over this summer let her run around in your garden with nothing on. itll make her a lot more aware of when she wees! leave her potty around so she gets used to it and when she does wee tell her that belongs in the potty but without making an issue. and dont worry about it at all....shell get the hang of it! in my experience little girls work it out real quick!

There is no age limit. It's different with every child. My oldest was 4 years old before she was completely potty trained. My middle one was 3 and my 2 year old is showing interest already. So you see, it's different with every child.

I race my little to the bathroom and she goes every time! make it fun for the both of you!
