Well, I have the same problem now:)
I have found out that If you want a warm room, you should choose yellow or orange color, if you want cold, but calm room you should choose blue or green-blue color. there are a lot of other colors but there are the best..
P.S. and I have chosen yellow:)

I painted my bedroom green because it is my fav. color. I ended up HATING it because we live where it is very cold and the cool and dark color made me feel sad when I woke up! I painted it pale yellow and I feel warm and happy now. I feel like a sap being so controlled by a color choice, but I am now a firm believer in the power of color. Buy a little sample and see how you like it before you comitt to the entire room.

I'd advise warm, welcoming colors, so stay away from light blues or grays.
I recently did a room in my house this beautiful deep peach color, and it just feels so warm & loving in that room now!
