If you feel you are underdressed, you may be.
My rule for going to the theater/opera is to err on the dressier side of things. I would rather be among the overdressed in a theater crowd than be among the underdressed.

What you describe sounds more appropriate for a daytime outing. Do you have something you can wear over the top, as a sort of jacket/cape?

You go to a show you dress up a notch..... always. A headband for one always says young or uneducated at these sort of things. Anything that looks remotely like patent leather or a tanktop says the same.

You can wear what you want where ever. But when one asks if one is wearing the right thing be it male or female it means that you already know the answer. Dress upward or older....

Yes it is too casual for a theater show like Wicked. I assume this is at a major theater, Wicked is not a small scale production.

The too casual parts are: the tank top and the pants.

I would go with either a dressier top and dressier pants, or a skirt or dress.

People dress up to see shows esp. Broadway productions, even if its the traveling show. You can never go wrong with going just a little dressy. Not a ballgown, but dressy enough so you won't feel out of place.

also, a night time show calls for being more dressed up then a day time show.

i will provide a small occasion. you realize those ridiculous sunlight colours that Paris Hilton wears? those issues are popular. a pair of great sunlight colours that flatter your face are casual. popular is largely something that's began by making use of somebody primary or properly-customary, and is included into modern vogue purely because of the fact the guy wore it. I desire dressing casual to fashionable any day.

All I caught in there was tanktop and leather belt. I have no freakin' idea what the rest of the stuff you are wearing is.

That should be fine...as a rule, if you aren't sure about what to wear, always dress more formal than you think.
