I'm a skinny kid, and now I avoid fastfood, not because I think I'm fat just because all that crap isnt good for your health, but I was wondering, here is what I get when I always go to Subway.

12" Roast Beef Sub
Wheat Bread
American Cheese(4 triangle shaped cheeses)

That's what I get normally, it is under the " 6 grams of fat or less" menu, but instead of getting the 6" one, I get the 12", and I was just wondering, is the sub with everything on it I posted above healthy for you and is it like fast food, like all the greasy things from KFC?

10 pts for one who answers both of these questions.

It is much BETTER for you than anything you would get at KFC. Much less fat. However, be careful, because you are still getting TONS of sodium, like all the sodium you need for an entire day, in one 12 sub. Also, be careful of the cheese and condiments, you'd be better off to get Provolone instead of American cheese, and ask for light mayo to help cut down on a lot of calories and fat in mayo. Still, if you have to go for fast food, subway beats KFC, McDonald's or any of those other hamburger joints hands down.

It is healthier than anything else out there. Much better than KFC, Taco Bell and McDonalds. For a more healthy sandwich, try getting it with out the cheese and with lots of veggies. Also make sure the condiments that you put on it are low fat. Mayo, ranch and some of the other sauces are loaded with fat and empty calories and because they are not measured when they are put on, there is no way of knowing how many empty calories are being added to your sandwich.

Yes it is healthy, you may want to cut back on the cheese. But the beef and the greens, wheat bread are much better for you than the greasy sponn stuff. Subway has a nutrient value published, check it out, usually on their napkins.

KFC is fried food, full of fat and grease, if you want chicken, roasted or rotisary is the best. The greasy stuff is cooked out of the food and dripped into a pan below it.

well on this website...http://walking.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=walking&cdn=health&tm=5&f=00&su=p284.5.420.ip_p674.0.400.ip_&tt=2&bt=0&bts=0&zu=http%3A//www.subway.com/subwayroot/MenuNutrition/Nutrition/index.aspx..It says that a 12 inch sub the way you have it isn't under 6 grams of fat..but the 6 inch is. It's basically doubled :). Subway isn't half as bad as KFC is though. Two original recipe chicken breast at KFC equals 34 grams of fat! And that doesn't include your sides! So you are doing so much better with your healthier choice of Subway :) happy eating!

If you really think about its not. Processed meats are bad for you and when you add mayo or condiments that just packs on more calories and fat. Sure its still better than a burger and fries but I wouldnt consider it healthy. But hey, if you like it, eat it, it wont hurt once in a while.

the only thing subway can boast is that their sandwich has less calories than others. but if you are talking about HEALTH, no it's not. processed meats and cheese is NEVER healthy! make a roast and slice and store some for sandwiches. or prepare a whole ham, again save a few slices for sandwiches. prepare a whole chicken and cut some pieces and use for sandwiches. so the slices aren't "true" slices, but atleast you know you are getting 'whole' foods and not processed foods.

It's a lot healthier that the stuff from KFC, yes, and no, it's not like the stuff from KFC - not fried, no trans-fats, etc.

You could be eating a lot worse stuff, believe me.
