They can be. Any dog can be cat friendly if raised right. And any dog can be cat aggressive. Both my Pitbull and my late Akita/Pitbull mix were/are very good with my cats.

each animal has a different "attitude", so it depends upon your staffordshire bull terrier's temperament.
i have brought cats into my home when i had a dog, and my dogs always knew i expected them to behave kindly toward other animals....
if you are getting a new puppy, however, and already have the cat, that shouldn't pose a problem (except the cat might resent the puppy at first). the dog will grow up "knowing" cats, and won't mind a cat at all.

If they are raised with cats - it should not be a problem, but also kep in mind the individual temperment of the dog. My ex and I owned one. after we separeated, he kept the staff and got a cat. they got along famously, slept together and everything. however any other cat was a problem. this dog was so cat aggressive that it actually killed a neighbour's cat as well as his next girlfriends parent's cat. HORRIBLE - i know! but never ever was anything but friendly towards the household cat.

If raised with a cat, any dog can be cat-friendly. If you get this dog as an adult you may have a problem... as with any dog.

it doesnt matter about the breed, any breed can get along with cats. its just how theyre raised and introduced to the cat. if you introduce them calmly and slowly they should do fine.
