Last night I asked a girl if she wanted to go to church with me (again) tonight, and that we would leave early and go get dinner. She said she would like to go, and would let me know for sure today. Is this a date? And do I pay for her dinner? Thanks.

Whether you do or don't sets the precedent. If you can go dutch it sets that precedent. You invited so you are expected to pay. Be careful with precedent...once she's accustomed to being paid for, that is a lifelong thing.

A guy should always offer to pay, whether he is out with his g/f, a friend, his mom or his sister, etc. It is what a nice guys do. That's not to say you should pay all the time, but at least offer, and be prepared to pay if they accept. As for whether this is a date? Ask her. Tell her you aren't sure what she had in mind and be honest and respect how she responds. There is no better way to get an answer than to ask. Otherwise, you could get the wrong idea, or bad advice from someone else.

You offered dinner I would expect to pay since there was no mention of going dutch. Even though you might be paying, I wouldn't consider this a date. It seems more to me like a friend asking a friend, but I assume that just from what you have posted.

Yes this is a date.. you asked her to go to dinner with you and that means you pay. If it was just a mutual planning thing, "hey lets hang out? oh how about dinner.." then it would just be polite if you paid but the required really.. but in this case, yes I would think you should pay.

Well, i think that seems how that you offered to take her out to dinner and that she said yes, then the best thing that I would think if you probally want to do this, that you should pay half, and that she should pay half, that way it's fair.If she has no money, then if I were you,if I were to really, really like her, that I would pay for the bill.

I think she should pay for her own. If you end up dating then you could take turns paying for dinner.

ou asked her and it certainly sounds like a date even if it is between friends but she may offer to pay her share. I would pray about it seeing as you are a Christian that will give you the true answer.
